My Newest Angels

One of my customers wanted me to make them an angel to sit on her front porch.  Her only request was that it was large enough to be seen from the road.  I went into my storage room and just...

1st Pump Organ Project

My brother & sister-in-law had an old pump organ that they didn't want anymore. They tried to sell it, then tried to give it away. No one wanted it. They were about to take it...

Christmas Ornaments

I got the idea for these from an altered art jewelry book.  They were supposed to be necklaces but I made ornaments instead.  You glued the pictures to the back of the crystals and glued...

A variety of tables

I've made so many tables that I've really lost count.  I thought I'd share a few with you.

OOPS, More angels!

I came upon a garage sale that was actually a craft store that had gone out of business.  I picked up the butterfly wings for $.10 a piece.  They are made out of feathers.  I used old...

Something other than angels!

I just wanted to show everyone that I do make other things besides angels!

A couple more angels

I made up a couple more angels for the holiday season. Sharon

Angels, Angels and more Angels...

More Mashers!!

Here are a few more potato mashers I gave life to.  It's alot of fun to try to come up with different ideas.  And everyone seems to get a kick out of them.

Witch Potato Mashers

Bear with me everyone.  This is the first time I'm posting a picture on the new website.  I've been into making people out of old potato mashers.  I made this witch for...

Re: "NURSERY RHYME JUNK"

Janis - These are fantastic!! But where in the world do you find all of the great rub ons? I can't seem to find any that have the charm to them that yours do.

Re: window table

Great job! If you come across 2 windows you can do the same thing only hinge the windows together and you have a little showcase. (I posted one last fall. Don't know if you can go back that far or not.) Keep up the good work!

Sharon

Re: Scrabble Plaque

Yipee! Another Michigan junker! These are great Joy! And I love your ski bench. My niece went to Grand Valley and loves the Grand Rapids area. I'll have to tell her about your cottages. Keep posting your great projects!

Re: An "ugly duckling" project!

Kathy- You really did start with an "ugly duckling". But what a great transformation! I don't know that I would have been able to see the possiblities. Great job!!!

Re: Corner shelf from old door

Midge, You are absolutely right. I made one several years ago and painted it and sanded to distress it. But I love that you showcased the original colors! Keep up the good work!

Re: My Newest Angels

Thanks for all of your wonderful compliments! I've missed that "boost" I get from all of you. I worked extra time in December to cover for our secretary and now it's tax season (Yes, I work for an accountant!) I sneak on when I can to see what all of you are up to. Sorry I haven't posted any comments, but please know that I LOVE all of your ideas and super junkiness!

LuAnn- I'm SICK of snow!!! But it sounds like you got even more than we did. Thank goodness hubby's workshop is heated!
Not that I've been out there much.

Midge- These were so fun to make, I'm sure you could put your own twist on them to make them even better. I sell angels year round and really don't change them for the seasons. The potato masher angels sold as soon as I took them to the store. After all, angels are always around us!

Keep up the good work everyone!!!!!!!!

Re: 1st Pump Organ Project

Thanks for the wonderful comments everyone! And thanks for choosing me for the Member Showcase. I'm flattered! It is so great to have someone appreciate the things we do. Some people just look at me like I'm nutso but what great fun I have junking. And the support I get from this website really keeps me going.

Candy- After I had put the black glass knobs on it, I found the knobs from the pump organ that you change the tone with. I wish I had used those but there's always the next one!

Georgia- I've missed being on the site. Our secretary at work was very sick so I've been doing double duty at work for the last 3 weeks. Next comes the dreaded tax season (I work for an accountant). But I always make sure to sneak in whenever I can to see what wonderful ideas you all have come up with.

LuAnn and Midge- We were on the edge of the storm that got snow, sleet and freezing rain so it kept the snow amount down. (5 or 6 inches maybe?) But it was pretty slippery out there. And now they are calling for more! Oh well. At least we will have a white Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!!!!!!

Sharon

Re: Joy To The World

This project is absolutely fantastic! I have a few windows similar to yours but never did anything with them (besides tables) cause they were so big. And the way you displayed it looks great!

Sharon

Re: Happy Thanksgiving

Hey LuAnn- Aren't the holidays wonderful?! It it so nice to see a picture of you with your family. I had Thanksgiving for my family also and am so thankful for all that we have and our good health. Hope everyone else out there had a wonderful day!

Midge- I'm another Michigander and was wondering where you are located. Wouldn't a junking rondevous be fun?!

Sharon

Re: A variety of tables

Missenorita - I get all of my legs from other pieces, sets at garage sales or flea markets. I've even made tables with 4 different legs. They looked kind of neat.

Thanks for the great compliments everyone!

Sharon

Re: Christmas Ornaments

Christy- Believe it or not, I don't have a Christmas tree. I have three crazy cats that would have it on the floor in a flash. But thanks for the compliments! I think it would be a great idea for everyone to post pics of their Christmas trees. Cynthia started out with her wonderful, unique trees.
I'd love to see more.

Re: cupcake tiers

These are great! Can I ask you what you used to glue them together I made some with glass candlesticks but they ended up coming apart. I love the gold. Makes them look very rich.

Re: Hardware angel ornaments

Angels? Did someone say angels? These are just adorable!

Sharon

Re: Christmas Ornaments

Thanks Gretchen! These are kinda fun to make.
(My camera has an automatic flash so you can't turn it off. I'll try to get into brighter light.)

Re: HOW TO MAKE A BED BENCH IN 45 MINUTES OR LESS :)

Wow, you make it sound so easy! Thanks for the instructions. I've got a couple of beds that are just crying out to be made into benches. I'm sure it will take me a tad bit longer than 45 minutes though. Thanks again!

Re: Fun With Clipboards

Hey, I've seen these characters somewhere before! They are becoming quite famous. Will you put these on the same tree as their angels?

Sharon

Re: Tractor Steering Wheel Wreath

How fun is this!? My dad passed away last February and was a farmer all of his life. I just wish I had an old steering wheel from one of his tracors. What a great momemto that would be. Thanks for sharing!

Re: A Little Wrench Fun

Oh you clever girl!! You never cease to amaze me. Where DO you come up with your wonderful ideas?

Sharon

Re: Wheeling & Dealing with my Friends!

Kari- Wish I could go too! Let us know what good finds you come up with.

Sharon

Re: Something other than angels!

Thanks everyone! The mirror is for sale, Kari. I think you should make a trip to Blissfield, MI to see it! Oh, then we could have a wonderful visit! Everyone else is welcome too! (You're pretty close, LuAnn. Hint hint)

Sharon

Re: Over run with windows!

Hi Amber! Welcome! These are great doors. I don't know how sturdy they are, but I had a front door just like yours and I made a table out of it. Getting a piece of glass cut for the top was quite expensive, but it was still a cheaper dining room table than you can get at the store. Let me know, if you want I can post a picture of my table.

Again, welcome and keep posting!

Sharon

Re: A couple more angels

Thanks everyone! I'm having so much fun with these. The skate angel seems to be the big hit. Clair, my sister gave me a bag full of these old metal bows she picked up for pennies at a sale. There were all sizes and begged to become angel wings. I sell my items at a store in Blissfield, MI called Patina. (Lots of antique stores!) Great place for anyone to check out if in the area. Cynthia, I'm not really sure what the wings on the canning jar angel were really for but I think they used them in floral arrangements. They are large foil covered cardboard leaves that had wire attached. Once again, begged to be wings.

Re: All is calm, all is bright...

Kari - I love your booth! Just wish I could see it in person, along with your wonderful farmhouse. I too love the chair and the Bingo roller. Good luck with your holiday season.

Sharon

Re: A couple more angels

Oh my! I forgot to mention that the ballerina slipper was given to me by Ratty! It was one of the many items I received in the first junk swap! Thanks again!

Kathy- I've never run across any ballerina slippers at sales. I'd love to make more so I'm really going to be on the lookout now. Thanks for the compliments!

Sharon

Re: Believe

I just love this! The flaking and peeling is just right on everything. And the pearls are a great contrast. Thanks for sharing!

Sharon

Re: More Mashers!!

Thanks for all of the great comments! (When my boss saw them, he asked me what kind of drugs I'm on. Hee Hee) A little imagination goes a long way.

The molds do have the faces right on them. When I antique them, it brings the features out. I found a Santa face mold this weekend and will be trying that out soon. On the regular faces I glue on, I bought a CD on Ebay that has hundreds of old pictures. Kind of expensive but I've already gotten my moneys worth out of it. That is where I've gotten most of the faces. If anyone needs any, I'd be glad to email some to you. Just let me know!!

Sharon

Re: another window / another idea

This is another great idea for an old window! I'm sure everyone has a gazillion windows they don't know what to do with. Thanks for sharing!

Re: And...A Cozy Guest Room Too!

I absolutely love this room!!! It has all of the elements I go crazy for. And the computer area is excellent! I bet my kitties (all 10) would enjoy the room as much as Luna. Keep up the good work girls!

Sharon

Re: Angels, Angels and more Angels...

Thanks! These would be great gifts at X-mas. The first two angels are just glued together. The jello mold angels are wired with a little glue just to keep them in line.

Sue- Thanks for the offer. I think my problem is in my picture program. For the old website I just clicked a spot to change the size for web posting or email. Now the ones I resized won't post on the new site. When I try to change them back in my program, it won't let me. Is there a way to resize them in this website? Thanks so much!

Sharon

Re: Witch Potato Mashers

A snowman sounds so cute! Hmmmm. I'm really gonna have to think about that one!

Sharon

Re: More Mashers!!

Thanks everyone! I took the Santa mashers to the store yesterday and everyone just lost it. I really enjoy when my items put a smile on someone's face. Georgia- The faces in the first three pictures are made from paper clay using push molds. The Santa faces are just pictures glued to round wood balls. The clay faces are much more time consuming but really have much more character. Thanks again all!

Sharon

Re: Needlepunch Designs added to washboards for display.

Excellent idea!!!!

Re: Trash Barn - Searsport, ME

GULP! I almost forgot to breath for a minute. When I see places like this, a funny feeling comes over me. How about you guys? And LuAnn, if you find a place like this anywhere NEAR us, you just let me know.

Sharon

Re: Another Conservatory

LuAnn- I just love these conservatories! Your friend is very talented indeed. Maybe one of these days I'll go through all of my millions of windows and try to come up with something. Can't wait to see yours, Georgia.

Sharon

Re: Witch Potato Mashers

Thanks again for all of your compliments. I really missed all of the support you all give. I've been so busy trying to keep up with items for the store I sell at that I was kind of in hybernation. But, I was having withdrawals so I'm back. I'll post more mashers when I catch my next breath! And look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations. Thanks again!!!

Sharon

Re: Rust Brothers No More

My heart skipped a beat when I looked at the pics of your haul. Just my kind of stuff! Lucky you to get it, poor you to have the shop close. Oh well, half the fun is in the search, right? Can't wait to see what you create with your treasures!

Sharon

Re: Witch Potato Mashers

Thanks everyone! It's really fun to come up with the different ideas on these. (Hey LuAnn- how's things up by you. Adrian is getting COLD!) I made this type of face using a push mold and paper clay. Instead of scraping off the back to be flat, I keep it rounded, like a head would be, then stick a wooden dowel in it. This type of clay just air dries, no baking. If you want hair on it, I stick wires in it before it dries to attach it to. Paint, antique and whallah, a head. On the angel masher that I used in my member profile, I just used a round wooden ball I took off something and glued a face on it. Either is cute. The clay is a little more work.

Re: help, I need info, I'm new at this?

I just want to say, as the owner of 10 cats, I LOVE the picket fence hiding the litter box. What a great idea!!!!!!!!!!! Also, I agree with everyone on the silver. Love to let mine "age".

Sharon

Re: Bart Doll Finished!

Oh! This one is great! I love the paintbrush legs. And great minds think alike, I just got some spark plugs for one of my angels! (Thought I'd make one to watch over the man-cave. Would that make it a "Mangel?" Keep up the great work!

Sharon

Re: Junk Market Dolls!

Cynthia- I'm so glad you liked your little angels. It was great fun doing them for you. But come on now. Look at what you came up with!!! These are excellent! I'm sure that all of your grandkids are thrilled to be the models for your work. (Is Noah sitting on glass? It looks like he's floating. Oh, I forgot, angels fly!!)

Sharon

Re: Picket Fence mirror/shelf

Georgia- I love your mirror!!! I seem to have a thing for old fence pickets and you surely put them to good use. I have made something similar in the past only I just had the bottom of the pickets left after using the tops for a project. Couldn't throw them away, no sir. So I put them together and cut the top into a boat shape. I had a piece of mirror cut the same shape. Great for cottages. Can I ask you how you attached your mirror?
