Reece was so proud (and rightly so) when he gave us his lamp creation. He had it all set up for when we walked into the room. We've received a lot of fun things from the boys such as painted rocks, drawings, hand-made cards and such but this was the first truly engineered gift and it certainly got the eyes misty.

I love watching him now look at things trying to figure out how they can be used (repurposed) and what kinds of things he would need to make them all work together. The thinking process to do this is a skill and talent not all poses and children are not always given the time and guidance to figure things out for themselves or, more importantly, let them make their mistakes and then correct them... THEMSELVES. My dad taught me this and it is a skill I cherish and often rely upon and am thrilled to see Reece submerged in thought and creation.
