The top part of this shelf was once a twin size headboard.  My husband and I added the piece of pine and the brackets. Painted white it fits the cottage decor look I love. Marie

Re: Old door vanities and benches

I want to try a project using an old door. Maybe a halltree or convert the the door into a desk/table. There's a great salvage store here in Jersey I go there often I'll forward the web site http://www.recyclingthepast.com

Re: headboard shlef

Thank you for the great comments. I enjoy repurposing/upcycling all the old pieces. I have a small shop I rent in Jersey. The store is located in a great town for the whole family. I hope to expand the business over the upcoming year.

Re: headboard bench

The bench is connected by four small metal "L" brackets in each conrner. Don't forget to support the middle with a 2x4 and secure them to the frame with two metal stright brackets, one at each end.
