My name is Cathy Youree and I am a mother of three and grandmother of 5. Married to my hubby Sam, for 33 years and work at a local high school.
I love the so called junkin. I have shopped at thrift stores for years and just recently found sites like junk market style which gave validation to my hobby.
To me, the older and rustier the better. Love gears and how they work. The prettiest part of a clock is the insides!!
Mixing the old with the new and finding a purpose for an outdated item is all the challenge I need these days. If it is too expensive, I will find a way to make it.

Re: Old warehouse cart turned coffee table

I have this exact cart. It has been sitting in my garage for about 6 months waiting on me to complete. I have sanded the wood and that is just about it. You have inspired me to get back on it. Thanks for sharing, your table is beautiful.

Re: I Need Your Feedback

I recently attended a wedding that was put together in 3 days. The bride's father was diagnosed with cancer and he wanted to walk his daughter down the aisle before he began treatment, which happened to be the next week. They were in the process of using a wedding planner and spending thousands of dollars on the wedding. The wedding was total perfection. Held at a friends house by the lake, nature was the background. I guarantee you that years from now when this girl looks back on her wedding day, she will think of the beauty of the day with family and friends and be thankful that those thousands of dollars were not spent. The wedding day was created by those who loved her and her family.
Anyone can hire a "traditional wedding planner", but to me it takes a very creative mind to work within a limited budget. I am always excited to see they way a person creates a beautiful table, an arrangement or anything else using the "old stuff" of days gone by.
As to the question of would I do my daughter or daughter-in-laws wedding ala junk. Absolutely. The casual elegance of twinkling lights, fresh cut wild flowers and the beauty of the outdoors, what could be more beautiful?
As to the question of junk head to toe, I believe this should be the question for the bride and groom. If this was left up to me, I am a very ecclectic person and love a little of this and that. I don't mind mixing a clay pot full of flowers with grandma's sterling silver!!

Re: Unique Sofa Table

I can't believe someone would toss that out. So cute. I love it.

Re: Record players as art :)

Re: Misty
