I am so happy I have found this site. I know thats not biographical info in and of itself, but it does speak to my great desire to reuse things and be creative with them. Let me say, though, I am not too great at it. I have so much stuff that I have saved and just not enough ideas and the creativity to use it! I love vintage stuff. I am an incurable collector and my fascination encompasses many media- paper, cloth, buttons, metal, and on and on and on. Right now I am working full time and I would love nothing better than to quit and take on a life of tinkering. I like sewing, handwork like knitting and embroidering and cooking. I love photography and Photoshopping pictures. What a challenge and joy that is! If you look at every day as an adventure, you will never grow old. I hope not to- at least in my heart and mind!

Earring Decor

I hated where my earrings had been stored and was trying to think of something new and different. I thought of the bulletin boards that people were making with frames, ribbon, and fabric as a...

Snowpeeps

I loosely based my snowpeeps on those in the Dec issue of Cloth, Paper, Scissors. I used some new trim, garland, etc. and lots of vintage touches.

Re: Snowpeeps

Shamrockerin- I will get some general directions up for you soon- it's a pretty cool magazine. I looked at your posts and you sure seem to have the same addictions that I do. :) I have the old window thing going myself...

Candy- thanks for suggesting that! I have a couple of those bulletin boards that I have made and I used upholstery tacks. Duh! LOL! Sometimes you just need someone to point out the obvious.

Sue Whitney- I am honored that you liked my earring organizer. I, too, am mad about fabrics- any kind, but particularly vintage fabrics like barkcloth and feedsack prints. When I am out and about and I see a piece of any size at a good price, it's mine. Then, I save it for a project such as this. I need more projects to use my collection on. But, in the meantime, I am happy to just look at them folded up on my shelf. They make a pretty display. :)

Re: Snowpeeps

Thanks! I will post more of them as I get them "glittered up." It was a fun project. I made about 10 of them and they are all so different. The glitter part is the pain- but it does add another dimension that I like.

Re: Earring Decor

This pic was taken when I first made the "thingy" but it is doing a slight bit of drooping now. It's still hanging in there( I have been making bad puns all day!), but I can foresee that I will need to re-staple the ribbon to make it a little tighter. It really accomodates only french wire type earrings and the kind that kind of clip- but I don't have a problem hanging them over the ribbon. It still beats keeping them in the little plastic bead containers I was using! Oh- and my earrings are usually not too heavy- I don't have much of an ear lobe and don't want to develop a big sag. Is that TMI? :)
