Mo, Kansas City

Avid "junker"! Love rescuing those wonderful old articles that might otherwise be cast off and elevating them to a place of prominence!! Maurice, my husband, and I have been "redoing" forgotten items for some time. Recently we became involved in "Good JuJu", an amazing vintage market in Kansas City, Mo. The 5,000 sq ft warehouse is open only 3 days a week, first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We're having the time of our lives matching customers with the perfect piece for their needs!!

Pictured here with me is my precious love bird, Lily Grace. This is her way of giving me a "kiss"!

Re: "Vintage Redesign Take 2"

Sooo pretty Gretchen. I didn't know what to call that design either, but I think it's so feminine. Is the chain all metal, or are there some other elements in there? Looks like the part closest to the "waterfall" has some larger links that are different. I love the look. Great job.

Re: Sue, Kathie Lee and Hoda on Today!

Sue, you did a fabulous job! I Congratulations! What fun to see "one of us" on national television. You did us proud!!!!!!!!! I agree that you need your own show. Where can we sign the petition?

Re: Gatherings - A Great Place to Shop for Good Junk

Oh My, what a BUFFET of glorious stuff! I like the feminine softness paired with the look of my favorite finish, RUST! I hadn't seen the books with covers removed and tied with ribbon before. Nifty! We're doing the naked lampshades here in Kansas City. What a neat look. "Gatherings" looks like a wonderful shop. Thank you for the pictures!

Love, love, love it, and I can see it transforming from season to season seamlessly! Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving......little arrangements for every holiday would enjoy being highlighted in this manner. GREAT idea!

Re: JUNKMARKET Style's 2009 Top "10" in Junk

Re: Marburger Farm Antique Show and JUNKMARKET Partner with Houston Habitat for Humanity!

Sue, Good For You! Habitat For Humanity is a great organization. My husband has helped them build a home here in Kansas City. What a worthy organization. Bless your heart for helping them!

Re: A Vintage Decanter Lamp

Marie, all of us who love to "junk" are pursuing a very important path. We are rescuing what other wise might be found in a landfill and elevating it to a new purpose! That lovely decanter might have lost its stopper and someone else may have tossed it, but Sue gave it new life and allowed it to Shine! Thank you Sue. Love the lamp! And Marie, you were just ahead of the curve!!!

Re: "Spirit in the Sky"

Beth, Good JuJu is located at 1412 W. 12th St., Kansas City, Mo. 64101. Next window of opportunity to shop will be Friday, Saturday, Sunday, April 3,4,&5th.
( Only open 3 days a month) Please ask for me when you get there. I'd love to meet a fellow JunkMarket junkie in person!!

Re: "Spirit in the Sky"

I do love this! What a clever idea. I actually have pet birds so anything that will accommodate a little feathered body attracts my attention! As my cousin in England would say....BRILLIANT! :o) Leanna

Re: It's 'Sew' Easy To Pretty Your Home

Candy, The old metal zipper wrapped round pitcher and anchored with metal bucket is inspired! Loved it. Thanks so much for sharing that idea!

Re: Ready To WORK

Georgia, This looks just lovely. Especially love those fabulous spiral legs you used to support the shelf above the table. Creative projects will surely flow freely from such an inspiring nook! Congratulations on a great job! Leanna

Re: Potting table

We just found a treasure trove of old doors while rummaging. One of them is definitely going to evolve into a potting bench thanks to YOU! Love the idea. What a neat second life for a sweet old door we found on a trash pile! Thank you again for the inspiration!

Re: Happy Easter & Welcome to our Booth!

CONGRATULATIONS on your booth in Pumpkin Hollow Antiques! We'll definitely put it on our list of places to visit when we take a road trip! What a righteous endeavor to bring together lovely things for others to enjoy and shop. I had to chuckle at something I saw on your "Andrea's List of 10 favorite things"....Rust. At Good JuJu in Kansas City we have a saying....."Rust Rocks"!! Nothing better than pairing fabulous weathered rusty pieces with shabby things. A feast for the senses for sure!

Wishing you success with this new booth, Leanna

Re: Mirror Mirror on the wall

Kim, Awesome job of seeing beyond what the mirror was to what it could become! Astounding. Leanna

Re: A Handmade Gift

Sue, we are just tickled you received and loved the calendar that Carla and Cheryl made! Our Good JuJu March sale ( we're only open 3 days a month), was this past week end. The Kansas City Star featured this calendar idea and we were stampeded with customers who wanted to buy one on the spot or order a custom one. What fun. Carla and Cheryl were glowing!!

Side note here and huge thanks to Kimberly who assisted in the presentation of the gift. It was my absolute dream to have our calendar arrive in a vintage briefcase spray painted pink!! I was totally defeated when the local Fed X office didn't share my vision and required it be sent in an ordinary card board box. They obviously didn't know our SUE, and how much she deserved PINK briefcase instead of CARDBOARD as shipping vehicle! Sweet Kimberly kindly intercepted the parcel and freed it from the mundane wrapping so Sue would only see the PINK BRIEFCASE! Thanks so much Kimberly and we will roll out our red carpet....we really do that at our sales.....just for YOU any time!
