Hi! I am new to this junk thing but have so much respect, adoration and the like for all of you professional junkers out there. It is SO hard for me to find nice junk out here in Hawaii. Seems either people really hold on to their stuff and if they are getting rid of it its usually Hawaiiana, hawaiian print fabrics and what not...no classic designs, not much solid wood or traditional lines...someone help me! How I long to get back to the mainland where flea markets and antique shops abound! Thank God for Junk Market fixes!

O-M-G! You are so awesome, Kathy. I want to do this...cloches are so expensive...what a great way to have one and quite unique...guaranteed to get conversations flowing...love it!

Re: My Picks from Oronoco

Sue! Thanks so much for letting us take a peek at your goodies! Hate that I missed out but maybe I can plan ahead of time for next year! Watch out! (smile) Love your finds!

Re: One cool ride

I don't know how to e-mail personally from here and don't even know if you can but do you have a website or blog? Just curious...love all of your re-dos!

Re: Quick simple fix

I have heard that masonite works best...DIY, sounds like that was what was in yours already since you say it feels like pegboard. Anyhow, love the transformation...I will have to post mine soon...time, time, time! I found two HUGE frames at sales this weekend for $5! I mean, they are HUGE and the lady was getting ready to THROW them out into the trash! (It was the end of her sale..always good to wait..hee,hee!) Amazing!
@ Gretchen: where's your shop? Do you have a site/blog?

Re: JUNKMARKET Style's 2009 Top "10" in Junk

Sorry, didn't specify what "these" were..the soda bottle crates.

Re: JUNKMARKET Style's 2009 Top "10" in Junk

Sue, how much should I expect to pay for these? Over here in Aloha land these things run from $40-$60 a pop! Murder!

Re: MORE & MORE

I wish I could too! Aren't you in Cali? That isn't too far away from Hawaii! LOL! I want BOTH of these tables/benches! LOVIN' the yellow!

Re: MORE SALE STUFF

I wanna see pics of the vintage metal chairs AFTER...I bet they were super yummy!

Re: MORE SALE STUFF

I LOVE the way the cabinet turned out...never thought that it would look this good! Magic!

Re: Lookie what I bought

Georgia..I love this...what did you decide to do with this?

Re: Market Bags

@ Georgia: I would love to buy some of that cloth too...I just snagged up all the old coffee sacks from one of my fav antique shops last weekend...wanted to make some pillows and use them also as backing for my revamped memo boards. LMK...

Re: EXTRA, EXTRA...it's the Springfield EXTRAvaganza!!

I AM SORRY! I had to post AGAIN! I JUST CANNOT BELIEVE that there are over 2500 vendors at this event...okay, I must go...feel myself getting nauseous! I am SO jealous!

Re: EXTRA, EXTRA...it's the Springfield EXTRAvaganza!!

What I wouldn't do to be there too, Kathy! Can you shop for me? PLLLLEEEAAASSSEEE! Ugh! I have got to make my way to the Mainland...I can't wait to see all of your fabulous finds and see how things go for ya! Love ya and have an awesome Thursday!

Re: On the road again...

Your pieces never cease to amaze me! Love seeing all of your finds, creative collaboration and awesome pics! BTW, thanks for the comment you left on my page in December! I hadn't checked my page in forever and saw that I had a ton of comments...and I thought I had no love! I just started a blog also, check it out when you get time. It's still under construction but I am excited about it! www.menmyhouseblog.blogspot.com. Much love to you and have an awesome week!

Re: "Vintage Redesign Take 2"

Hi! I love this piece! As usual, it's fabulous! I wanted to apologize for not responding to your last message to me. I have totally neglected to check this account for a while and I am just getting back into the hang of things around here. I will be posting some new projects pretty soon but in the meantime, I am enjoying looking at everyone's awesome stuff! I love this place. Thanks, also, for the blog link for the lady who moved to fill her home with all things junk created! It was absolutely fabulous and truly inspirational. Hope to talk soon! Have a great week and Happy Easter!

Re: I've got the bug!

Aaacckkk! You all probably think I have dropped off the face of the Earth...I am still here...waaaaaaaaaaayyyyy out here in the middle of the Pacific and I have neglected to check my account for months...obviously! Thanks so much for all the love and I will be posting more great projects pretty soon and I have a few things that I would like your input on too...until then...keep on junkin'!

Re: PIECES + PARTS= OOH LA LA TRES CHIC NIGHTSTAND

Okay, so this is way too cute! I am just getting started on this antiquing/refinishing road. Would you share with me how to get this look step-by-step? Oil vs. latex vs. milk paint? What types of paints are best to use. When do you sand? Do you always have to sand first? Wax or no wax? Polyurethane or no? I am SO lost here!
