Jan's repurposed table top stand!
Remember my recently posted table top stand? I kept looking at it and something just wasn't right. It annoyed me all day today so I had to do something about it. A simple case of...
table top stand
I found this old base that in its time had been used as both an electrical lamp and then a candle holder. I had to scrape years of old candle wax off before I could use it and I originally...
stirrup frame
A photo frame made from an old stirrup and a belt buckle.
plant table
Found this old table on the roadside some years ago, brought it home and gave it a face lift. Originally it was a dark and dingy brown but had a lovely shape and great potential.
wonderful scales
I notice how many of us love different scales and thought I'd share my two favourites.
valentine garland
My valentine garland for this year made entirely from junk and finished off with a wedding photo of him and me in black and white for that vintage look (we actually got married in colour!!)
fruit bowl disc-overy
After seeing NDJunkGirl's amazing record holder, I thought I'd show you what I do with those LPs that are too scratched for playing. I melt them in the oven and then mould them into bowl...
spirit of junk
I was deconstructing this old lamp to get at the wiring when it occurred to me that the shape looked rather like a statuesque body. I found a stone head which once attached made the figure look...
junky valentine shrine
It's snowing heavily here which doesn't happen often in the south of England so as I'm home thought I'd try and create something for Valentine's just from the odd bits of junk I have in my...
stamp frame
I found this old stamp collection amongst the toys etc in the loft. It was started about 15 years ago by my sons and now long forgotten. There are no special items in the collection...
wine bottle stopper
This is my variation on ShabbyChick's beautiful button bouquets and photo holders. I pared down a cork and fitted it with this lovely copper coloured wire then added all those tiny bits of...
globe lamp
I had this beautiful pink and gold glass globe shade and knew it might be a candle holder one day but hadn't been able to fit it satisfactorily to anything. I then came across this silver tea...
table of faith
This table was left when I moved into my current home and no amount of scrubbing or rubbing would make it look good. I used it as a plant stand for ages and then decided on a makeover by...

Hi Christy, I put them in a lowish oven and for not very long. Just keep checking them as they get soft pretty quickly. They also harden quickly once out of the heat but you can put them back as many times as you like.

I think the trick is to try and get your pasted image as flat as possible and then finish up with lots of varnish for a lovely smooth end result. My varnishing made the table look older which I loved.
