did you know that you're not suppose to cover a thermostat because that disrupts the flow of air to the thermostat to regulate the temperature, at least that's what i learned in my many readings of fix it books :), but i am occasionally wrong LOL

I HAVE USED MINE FOR QUILTS, RAGBALLS, TABLECLOTHS, FAUX FOOD (FRENCH BREAD,FRUIT. I EVEN MADE A WINE GLASS WITH FAUX WINE IN IT & ANOTHER WAS A BLOODY MARY WITH FAUX CELERY STICKING OUT OF IT. I ALSO USED IT AS A COMP. PRINTER HOLDER, USING A CUTTING BOARD ON THE TOP.

SUE, I ONCE DID A VALANCE AT A KITCHEN WINDOW WITH THEM HANGING! VERY CUTE, BUT I CHANGE THINGS AROUND AS OFTEN AS I CHANGE MY CLOTHES, SO FOR NOW THEY'RE IN A BASKET. LOL

what i do is drill a start hole, then put the saber saw blade in the hole & cut it out :)

HI GIRLS I'D BE HAPPY TO SHARE :)

you can use spray or an air compressor if you have a lot to paint, any kind of white latex paint semi gloss will work, even the 99 cent cans. after you paint, let dry, sand edges, middle if you want, then comes the fun part :) to "primitivize" it ( my word) you can use a tea bag steeped for awhile, wring it out,then rub; or black coffee with a rag, rub on,or hot chocolate with vanilla, the vanilla stains good :) or used motor oil. these give the prim effect. you can go the dark stain route, but it doesn't look as prim & original :) hope i helped! also these treatments can be used for any other color of paint.

ANOTHER TIME I WAS HOARDING OLD WOODEN SIGNS IN THE OUTHOUSE, I FORGOT ABOUT THEM & MARY EMMERLING CALLED & SAID SHE NEEDED SOME SIGNS, I SAID I'D LOOK FOR SOME, BUT I DIDN'T THINK I HAD ANY :) SO I LOOKED ALL OVER, OPENED THE DOOR & OUT THEY FELL! I GAVE HER A CALL & WE HAD TO LAUGH TOGETHER AS ALL OF A SUDDEN I HAD PLENTY TO SELL!

hi, your wheel with the handle would be a great start for a wreath of tools & gadgets, just wire them on close together, until the wheel is filled up & hang it on an outbuilding :)

i visited your blog, great site, wish i had time to add to mine :) when i set up a display i try to make it look like it would as a display in the home or garden & also on your hang tags, put what the items can be used for e.g. an old advertising box: towel holder, remote holder,toilet paper,magazine......i use those big shipping tags & tea stain them quick in the micro, so there's enough room to write ideas :)

KIMBERLY, i'm not sure if the folk lore is the same as with a bottle tree, but the one i know is that if you hang bottles or canning jars from trees it keeps away evil spirits :)now the folk arty way of doing this is to wrap wire around the neck of the bottle or jar & embellish with crystals & beads & hang it, i used to do this but i put a votive in the jar; looked great at night, but we cut the tree down due to disease, not because it burned down!!!!!!!

GIONI'S GOURMET GRILLED CHEESE
i was bored making grilled cheese the usual way & decided to improvise:

take slices of bread (white, whole wheat or whatever kind you prefer); add two kinds of favorite cheese, after you put it between bread, smash it down, then whisk 2 eggs & 3 tablespoons milk together, dip the cheese sandwich in egg mixture, then roll in bread crumbs & fry in an oiled skillet, turning once. you can also use a george forman grill lightly oiled. after you have it this way, the usual way seems boring! this way gives it a whole new taste.

cirlam, or in the mean time you could push the tv back a smidge & use some old shutters in front when not in use!

OR TAKE IT APART & USE THE RUNGS IN THE KITCHEN & CRAFT A POTHANGER, OR USE THE RUNGS UPRIGHT FOR TOWELS,MATERIAL OR MAGAZINE HOLDER.I SOLD ONE TO A DEALER WHO HUNG IT FROM THE CEILING & PUT QUILTS IN IT! I THOUGHT THAT WAS PRETTY DANGEROUS, BUT IT NEVER FELL :)

I DID IT MY SELF & DUG HOLES, PUT THE POSTS IN & WENT AROUND THE TOP WITH 1X3'S WHICH STURDIED IT UP. AT FIRST I THOUGHT, WILL IT BE THIS WOBBLY, BUT AS YOU ADD PIECES PARTS IT TIGHTENS UP; AT LEAST MINE DID!
