Re: My first retirement DIY project

I have similar lights hanging above my kitchen sink & stove. If you get the bulbs with the mirror silver finish on the bottom they will reflect the lights through the holes on to the ceiling. it's a cool effect but does let less light shining down. Love your lights!

Re: Repurposed Parts Whimsical Lamp

so cool, love the shade & the hand next to it!

Re: Wedding Decorations Thus Far

All these are very nice. I think it makes the occasion all the more special with your own touches everywhere.

I don't know if you do crafts or scrapbook. I have two of these in my craft room. My hubby made trim and a luan plywood top that slides on the trim piece. I use mine to hold all kinds of little things for scrapping, eyelets, buttons, brads, tags, ect. would be great for other crafts too like beading, ect. Or you could use it for earings and other small jewelry items. I love these type trays so will be interested in what you come up with.

Re: JMUG "Fall Edition" Vendor Feature... It's All About Junk Friends...

I wish they had shows like that around my house. Sadly they do not. The few flea markets around here are not worth it either. :(

Re: Neighborhood Junk

What a nice find! It was spring clean up in my city this week and I found nothing. I have two lamps in my living room made from croquet balls, which I bought on ebay after monthes of searching for the right ones at the right price. I can't tell from your photo if yours are wooden balls or not, if they are they are worth a little money. Would love to see what you do with them!

Re: Old printers drawer

Great item. Heres another use for printer drawers. I have a large one and just aquired another. My husband put sides on it to make a lip and then cut luan plywood to make a top for it that slides on and off. I use it to hold little crafting supplies for cardmaking and scrapbooking. I keep buttons, brads, eyelets, ect. Great for beads too!

Re: Okay I admit it, I'm addicted to Thrift Stores

Lucky you, in my area there is one thrift store with not much to choose from and a few crappy fles markets in the summer with very few vendors. But anyways looking at your photo I am drawn to the star shapes colandar. I have the same one in my kitchen upside down with a light inside over my stove. I spaypainted mine copper just because I have copper in my kitchen. I have another similar one over my sink. I love them. I bought the bulbs with the silver coating on the bottom. They reflect both up and down. It makes a cool pattern on the celing at night if my big overhead light is off. Have fun thrifting!!
