Tole Lamp Planter
This old tole lamp has seen many rewires. It's from 1930 and a family hand-me-down I didn;t want to give up completely. I unwired it, flipped the shades, added clay pots and plants. It hangs on my...
Hand Painted Floor Cloth
This Floor cloth is 36 inches x 48 inches and was painted on the back of a linoleum remnant that was a "give away" at a local flooring company. It was a great surface to paint on.
Outdoor Pot
Regular clay flower pot was sealed to water proof inside and painted with outdoor scene. Dish was painted to match and can be used as a top or dish for pot to sit in.
Half Table
Old half table was a yard sale find. It was primed to cover old stain and scratches, and given a basecoat of off-white. Design was added to give a cottage style.
Garden Chairs
Old chairs from the 1930's rescued from an attic, and given a new lease on life. Several coats of paint were removed and then they were repainted with my own design. They look great in a sunroom or...

Re: Is it REALLY a Watermelon?
I have to say this is great idea. It makes me wish I had an old gas tank to paint. Thanks for the inspiration. I am looking at my old bar-b-q grill with new intent.

Fantastic idea! I have several trays left over from old microwave ovens. They are so cheap, I can't resist them for serving pieces when I see them at yard sales. They would work in this project like the Pyrex dishes. Thanks for the super idea. Now, to raid all my old lamps.

Re: The REAL Inspiration!
Thanks for the offer of an email of the picture. I would really like that. I have looked at these pictures and I could almost come up with a children's story about an old tree and the house. I'll be happy to share the result of the painting and the story if I get to it.

Re: The REAL Inspiration!
Great Photos. I want to use the last one with the big oak in a painting. I've been looking for just the right thing to do for a tree subject. I'll share when I get the painting done.

Re: My "Pot Lady"
Really cute. We did these when I had a shop and sold them as fast as we could make them. They weren't quick and easy to make. Yours are great.

Re: A planter, or not a planter, that IS the question!
What great ideas. Why pay high prices for planters when all you have to do is look around in the lawn shed and the closet. I'm inspired to update my backyard garden. Thanks for sharing all these neat ideas

Re: Repurposed Footboard
What a great idea for an old foot board. Makes me want to throw away the head board so I can paint the foot board as a sign.
