Born and raised in NJ. I live in a house dated 1823 and have a boxer named Rocky. I am also engaged. I plan to move upstate New York once I sell my home in NJ. I love reading, crafting, flea marketing and turning treasured found items into something creative. I am looking forward to seeing new ideas and sharing with others as well.

Summer Garden Hose Wreath

Hi Everyone! This was so easy to make. Just use an old hose or buy a cheap one at a dollar store. I used floral wire to tie it together in a few places. I found easier when I made some other wreaths...

Old faucet peg shelf

Any scrap of wood you have that would make a nice peg shelf & that is what I used. I saw these old fashioned faucet handles and thought they would make a different looking peg shelf. I love the...

Valentine Sundae

I had this one lonely sundae glass and decided to make a fake sundae with it. I took some white cotton batting or you can use cotton balls and I also had a few small red Christmas balls in my...

Tea Cup bird feeder or decoration

I bought so many Blue Willow tea cups at a flea market as the price was right. Some had a slight chip so I turned them into bird feeders. But you can just use them as decoration as well. I have a big...

Old window decoration

Another idea for old window frames.....fabric instead of pictures or painting flowers.

Old window decoration

This is just an old window frame I got for free and just some quilt scraps to place behind the glass. I saw this idea in an antique shop for $65.00 and realized I could do this at home for free!

Re: LAMP PROJECTS

So innoventive! It looks like a nice cozy area to read a good book. Very nice and love the surrounding decor.

Re: From garden fence...to cloche...to chandelier!

It always amazes me how artistic people are. This is really cute. And those glasses....my mom ( she is 88) has some and she told me they're from the 40's. As I recognized them rightway when I saw them. What a great idea to use some odd pieces of glassware as well. Great job.

Re: Sorry Folks...My Mind's Been in the Gutter

This is just so unusual and pretty. It blends with the trunk of the tree and love how you added the colorful flowers. I will have to keep that in mind when I see them. Very nicely done and love the fawn too, how precious.

Re: My lunchtime menu: JUNK!

There is so much to see in this one, great picturs!!! I would have to go back too, love those castor wheels as their great to mount to the wooden soda cases and slide under a bed for storage. You must have enjoyed this & it's a great way to spend a lunch hour. Once during a long term Jury Duty, I used to go into the town and hit all the antique stores and 2nd hand stores. What fun!

Re: Drink Up!

You have a wonderful collection and have it displayed so nicely. I like how intact the pyroglazing? is on the front of the bottles. Very nicely done. My fiance collects old bottles himsself from the 1700 and 1800's so I know how large a collection can be. Recently he put some lights in his cabinet and they make a nice glow coming through the bottles.
Good luck with your collection, great work!!!

Re: Windchime

This is great as we bought a bottle cutter at a yard sale and it worked great. I love my windchimes, my porch as about 7 of them!!! Some people think of really neat things and this is definetely one of them.

Re: For the birds, too!

Wow, that is another creative idea. I just bought after Easter these little nests made of grapevine. Now this would be a cute way to decorate an outdoor one as well. I have a grape arbor and hang just an ordinary fixture but this would make a great detail. So clever! Welcome aboard.

Re: audballs

Now this is so creative. I have seen people use ordinary bowling balls as those gazing balls but this is very unique. I was just wondering what you used to hold the shells in place and then read the details. You did an excellent job. The seashell one would look great at the shore and could even be sold as I think it is really cute. (Reminds me of that old tongue twister...sally sells seashells at the seashore)
Do you have to use rounded china pieces for the mosaic one? As I tried it once and failed miserably at doing mosaic tiling so I was just curious if it helps if you have pieces of broken plates that have a curve to them. Thanks for the tips.

Re: Vanity Makeover

You gave it a second life and looks fabulous. Great job and the hardwork paid off. It is amazing what people do throw out. Colors are very nice as well.

Re: Flower ladder

So pretty. Love the colors you used. I have an old painted step ladder that is a bit rickety so now I have an idea of how to display some flowers. Very colorful and adore your sign in name. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Little-bit Junky Wedding Table Decorations

I love your ideas and what great prices. I am getting married next year and this is a simple yet beautiful cake top. The candles make a nice gift too. Wonderful! Thanks for sharing it.

Re: How to Re-Purpose a Scale

I love this...a really nice color scheme as well. Very unique and clever the way you decorated it to use. Thanks for "weighing in" with your ideas.

Re: Catch Me on The Today Show with Kathie Lee & Hoda!

Hi Sue,
Just saw you on the Today show and loved the door knob idea. You were wonderful, so calm and a natural! Great ideas and thanks for sharing them all.

Re: Kick-Off for Junk Beautiful Outdoor Edition in Texas

Ordered my book too. Love those chairs and it's just so perfect. Looking forward to seeing all the great ideas.

Re: Necklaces crafted from Silver Antique & Vintage Fork & Spoon Handles

These silverware peices are really wonderful ways to make jewlery. I have a question, do you use a grinder to saw off the one end? I agree with the one viewer who also that feels like she has ADD when you see so many greats projects on this site that it gets me motivated so I am doing a bit of everyting. Great job!!!

Re: Vintage Door Corner Shelf

Just so wonderful and looks really pretty. I was walking my dog yesterday and saw an old door being thrown out but by the time I got my dog home, the garbage men had arrived. But you did such a pretty job with the accents to the door. Now I will have to be on the ball more before the garbage men come..lol

Re: Cover a Thermostat

Oh what a great idea. Upstairs in my hallway I have an old fuse box that has a metal door. I hung pictures there but they look always oddly arranged...., now you gave me a great idea. Very clever. Such innovative ideas! I love this website.

Re: "Distant Memories" Shadow Box

You really did a nice way you incorporated the music theme. Very creative. Last summer I saw a coffe table at a flea market for $7.00 and it had a built in shadow box. I hesitated and then went back to buy it and it was gone!! But I love what you did with the shadow box. Really sweet.

Re: Tea Cup bird feeder or decoration

I would try a strong epoxy glue. They do make a certain epoxy glue for glass. I saw on HGTV where they made a cake stand using plates and tea cups as a layering method and the host said it was done with a strong epoxy glue. I am not good either with power tools but my boyfriend helped me out and got me started. So good luck and let me know if you did it with the glue.

Re: estate sale cupboard gets BUILT IN

You did a great job with this piece. It looks like it was part of the house. Love the yellow ware bowls as well. I went to a yard sale once and this lady was selling her old yeloow bowls for $2.00 each. I bought 2 of her yellow ware bowls and later found out how popular they are. I was sorry I didn't buy the rest. Yours look really country in the cabinet. Very nice.

Re: Thanks for the Inspiration

So very creative. Never would have thought of a bench and now when I see a discarded bed, I will grab one. I love toile myself and now that have toile in so many colors. You did a fantastic job, really impressed.

Re: Super Sunny Sunday Swap at the Sunset

Nice things, I can see you will put a nice life into them.

We have this one flea market that has all these shed like buildings and if you don't mind walking in the slush and ice to each building you can sometimes find that diamond in the rough. Some people warm up their buildings/sheds and offer hot beverages so it is nice to browse and chat. But otherwise, here we have to wait until Spring for the outdoor markets.

Good job with the treasures.

Re: an old drawer found on the side of the road.

Wow,great painting job. What did you use for the handle? That made it extra pretty. Very very sweet.

Re: Vintage Ceramic Squirrel Pin Cushion

What a great idea!! Now I have an idea of what to do with my doggie planter. ALthough it would help if I sewed more!! LOL. But really a bright innovation!

Re: Tea Cup bird feeder or decoration

Hi Ladies,
Thanks for the compliments. I went to Home Depot and you can buy the metal rods at any length and thickness. (Just ask where they keep them as I don't recall the aisle) And right near the metal rods are the screw on nut packages that match the rod size. The first time I made one, I used a regular drill bit but then I found a bit for glass and ceramics & it made it much easier to whip through the glass and tea cup. After you drill the holes, then place the rod through cup and saucer and tighten with the nut. ( one inside the cup and one under the saucer ). After the first one, it goes a lot quicker! Also, you can mismatch the cups and saucers as well. It just happens I am a Blue Willow fan so I had many to use.

Re: Vintage Sewing Pedal Goes Contemporary

So clever! I really like the way it ended up so colorful and coordinated. Really adorable.

Re: Last Night's Party Leftovers become Today's Valentine ...

Love all the whimsical details. Very creative and really sweet for Valentines day, nice work!

Re: Recycled Shelf

I just saw a small shutter in my spare room and didn't know what to do with it. Now you gave me a great idea. Very nice work and loved the tea cup fireplace mosiacs too. So talented you are! I wish I could do nosiacs but when I tried to do a table top, it just fell apart.

Re: My Potting Shed

It just makes me want to hang out in there with a book and a cup of tea. It is so cozy and so very creative. It amazing what we can find at the curbside. You did a lovely job decorating it as well.

Re: Glass Cigar Tubes - Totally Tubular Project

A terrific idea. Love how you displayed the flowers. So pretty and simple. Really a beautiful job. Such talent!

Re: Little Ditty About Jack and Diane....

Love it. I am a big fan of old bottles and making my own old worn labels and I just adore what you did with the tulips and the old fashion Valentines. Just so creative! I think I need to make a Love Potion #9 label myself now!

Re: Old window decoration

Thank you one and all for your very nice compliments. Everyone is so inspirational. Wishing all of you a happy junk filled day!
