Occasional Shop SOS!
I am thoroughly resigned to opening my very own Occasional Shop in mid-2010. I REALLY need some input and words of wisdom from those of you who have delved into this adventure. A bit about my setup...
One of my favorites!
Here's the big surprise that I promised! I love this color and I use it on everything that I can! It is calle Castaway and it is from the True Value collection.
SHESELLSSEASHELLS...
Another project - I have had these shells forever. The vase was a $2 garage sale goodie and I mixed some sandbox sand and rock salt (so sparkly..). The remainder of the stuff on the shelf is from...
Ta Da!
Well, here is part one of the junk make-over! I painted the lower cupboards and the upper shelves with a shiny white paint. My husband put the top on the cupboards - just a piece of unfinished wood...
This one will be a BIG surprise
I picked up this china cabinet for $40 on a local site, www.pennswoods.net. The site is like a Craigs List for our area. I am using this piece in the kitchen, but I am making it much more...
It pays to have friends in Junk places.
As I mentioned previously, my Gram is moving to a smaller home. Unfortunetly, the place was a bit short on storage. I almost bought a truckload of prefab stuff from the local box store, but then I...
I LOVE some good garage sales!
Just a quick shot of the great stuff I snagged at garage sales on Saturday - A pile of beautiful curtains that I am going to use in my Gram's new house ($2 - check back later for pics after I alter...
Summer Brunch with Some Fancy Junk
Because everyone was so enthusiastic about my first post, I decided to show off more of my favorite junk! I hosted a brunch this summer for my sister and several of her friends, all of whom are...

My Grandma is finally moving to a smaller home, and has offered up piles of good stuff for us! This afternoon, I was delighted to find her dining room buffet stacked with old cookbooks and recipes. I...

So awesome! I love how everything went together just perfectly! You have so many wonderful pieces. I love metals with vintage print on them. I agree with monakent, you picnic should be featured in a magazine!

posted: 10:26 pm on August 30thPlease keep me posted on your plans for the occasional shop. I have been entertaining this idea for quite some time as well, and would love to have someone to correspond with about it. I live in NW Pennsylvania - so I am hoping for a summer and fall season next year.
Re: Georgia Moon's First Occasional Sale
I love the idea of an Occasional Shop! I have long wanted to venture into this realm of business, but I am just not brave enough to forfeit the bi-weekly paycheck. At the same time I yearn for my very own creative outlet.. so tell me everyone - what do you think of the idea of an Occasional Shop? And Georgia Moon - how is it working for you?
