Watching Kompolt (www.kompolt.com) grow in size and scope since Melissa and I founded it over 8 years ago - raising more than $20 million for charitable causes, and running over 550 campaigns - is something I am immensely proud of.

I am now very lucky to have an opportunity to pursue my art & design while my team will be taking the reins and continue to do great things for the charities & brands we serve.

So, I am now a full-time Assemblage Artist & Designer with a passion for “up-cycling” & social good. Always the hunter and gatherer, I spent my growing up years searching in the creek behind my house where my daily finds were amassed and revered. Now I spend as much time as I can scouring flea markets, garage sales and salvage yards – finding interesting castoffs that in my eyes are treasures.

Each art piece I create is a one-of-a-kind and usually starts with a theme or metaphor. Something has to speak to me before I begin and the older and more worn the item is the better. It’s all about the character and the message.

I addition to my art, I also design & create furniture to include tables, lamps, wall-hangings, etc., etc…

Wikipedia describes assemblage art as an artistic process in which a three-dimensional artistic composition is made from putting together found objects. I call it fascinating.

"Kind Words Will Unlock An Iron Door"

Here's one of my latest industrial art piece with a great message.

ICE COLD Canada Dry Ginger Ale Wall Art

Vintage tin Canada Dry Ginger Ale advertising signs re-purposed into wall art.

The Five Feet Table

Can you figure out why I am calling this the “Five Feet” table?

Circuit Breaker Box Clock

See! you can make a clock out of just about anything! Here’s one made out of a cool old green circuit breaker box.

Wiry Joe Clock

Old tin wire spools have some of the best graphics and Wiry Joe is no exception!

Vintage Cash Register Art Piece

That Georgia! Always on the lookout for cool things for me and a wonderful old cash register was no exception…

The JennyK Room @ Georgia's First Occasional Sale

Georgia was wonderful enough to let us use an entire room at her first Occasional Sale and we pretty much filled up every inch of it! And can I say how amazing Georgia and Melissa are?? I got sick the day before the big sale and they pulled it off like the champs they are.

Toot Your Own Horn

I have a thing for old brass musical instrument mouth pieces and when Sue showed us her stash of them and mentioned something about "tooting your own horn" my creative gears started turning... Here's my artistic take on some self-esteem fun.

"The Key to Your Universe is That You Can Choose"

I found 10 pounds of vintage keys in a bucket at the salvage yard – a cool find in itself, but the best part was that most of them still had their old hand written tags to include Testing Center, IBM Machine Cabinet, Trophy Case, etc.

Vintage 78 Record Clock

Here are the first of my two projects I created for the Record Contributor's Challenge: A clock made from a old 78 and an up-cycled clock mechanism & hands.

Vintage Pitch Pipe Flower Vase

Dried lavender and a vintage pitch pipe - it doesn't get any easier than this.

Wall Hanging Made With Multi-Colored Springs

I had the time of my life at the junkyard this weekend... An entire dumpster full of new truck parts came in the day before and they were saving it for me to pick through first. We're talking TONS of washers in interesting shapes and sizes, small medium and large lug nut covers, metal bits and pieces that who knows what they went to, etc. But the highlight of the hunt was finding these amazing steel multi-colored, multi shaped springs. Orange, blue, green, red, yellow, black, gray...

Vintage School Map Occasional Tables

Remember the framed vintage school map post I did a few months back? I still had the East Coast section and have been saving it for just the right project. Enter the two fun, funky, metal table stands I found at the swap meet this weekend...

Meet Reece, my first Assemblage Art apprentice!

Reece is the son of a great gal I work with and is a budding artist. I’ve taken him under my wing to teach him assemblage art and we’re having a great time. My long-term dream is to be able to work with kids to use art as a way to build self esteem and expression.

Heavy Table Makes a Mighty Statement

Well, the stuff I’ve been finding at the Salvage Yard keeps getting heavier and heavier… The guys are starting to tease me now because everything takes a forklift to lift into my truck. The parts for this indoor / outdoor table were no exception. It’s mighty and it's heavy!

Repurposed Desk Made With Vintage Type and Machinist Table Base

My *new* desk made from a machine shop table and vintage type is complete. It measures a whopping 4' wide by 8' long. It took over two months to put together and I am so happy with the results.

HERCULES POWER Mirror Project

Here's a neat little mirror project that gives a self-esteem boost every time you look into it.

Block-O-Blocks

Here's a fast but fun wall hanging project you can create using old wooden children’s blocks.

Faucet Knob Art Pieces

As many of you know, I have a thing for metal faucet / valve knobs and usually come home from the junkyard with a bunch every week. In a previous post I showed and example of a wind chime and here are my latest wall art creations.

Doll Leg Vase

OK, now for something on the silly (but fun) side. Here is a vase I created out of an really old doll leg. I attached it to a heat register grate for the texture and then found some interesting metal banding and thought it made the perfect garter belt!

To Ride a Horse is to Ride the Sky

I found this amazing old metal horse at Geo’s store (I tell you Geo has the BEST stuff!) and have been saving her for the perfect assemblage project because she is THAT wonderful.

Putting a Little Light on the Subject

Jim (Junk Architect) you've inspired me! Here’s a neat little lamp project I put together using an old car/truck headlamp, a rusty round thing and a cool stand I bought at Geo's store.

JennyK's Office Re-Junking Part #3

I've been a busy bee with my office re-junking project and am really happy with the results so far. In this post I show my medical cabinet printer and office supply cabinet, my gurney "side board" and some fun art along the way... The next posting will be of my "new" desk. Stay tuned!

My Latest Salvage Yard Haul

Well, the last couple visits to my favorite salvage yard produced some wonderful round-shaped finds and fabulous letters!

Play the Music, Not the Instrument

Well, I must admit the Piano Paper Roll JMS Challenge, was just that, a serious challenge for me! First of all, I’m not sure if you’ve ever worked with these bits of paper fun, but they are very brittle and tear easily – plus, I rarely incorporate paper into my art, so this project had me stumped. Then, on top of that, my rolls weren't in English but Lithuanian(!) so I couldn’t pull a design theme from words in the music. Hmmm – what was a girl to do?

"To receive everything, one must open one's hands and give."

I love this quote and feel the vintage glove forms carry the message really well. They are attached to an old piece of galvanized metal and I used my vintage typewriter to type the message on an old clay coated flash card.

Push Lawnmower Lamp

I've decided to re-junkify my office at work and will be posting a series of photos so you can join me along the way.... Here's my first real "junking" piece - a push lawnmower lamp I made with my father over 10 years ago. I decided it would look good up against my blue wall shining on the metal "GATHER". It is sitting on an old hospital gurney but that's for another post...

Industrial Lamp Turned Display

I posted a project back in November about turning an industrial lamp into a display and showed it on an old gear and full of Scrabble tiles. Here's my latest update filled with colored aluminum washers. Here's a link to the earlier post where I explain how I make these: http://www.junkmarketstyle.com/item/2886/industrial-lamp-turned-display

Centrifuge Pencil & Pen Holder

I'm working on my work office re-do and here is another fun project I wanted to share. I made a pen & pencil holder out of a blood centrifuge. I found the top and the tubes together (actually found two of them) then "married" that onto a metal base with a crown bolt on the top. It's all metal and it spins all sassy-like!

Rusty Sprocket End Table

Here's a marriage made in rust heaven! I found this wonderful rusty sprocket wheel a couple months back as I was leaving the salvage yard (so glad I was there when I was) and had been eyeing the heavy blue stand at Geo's store for months and decided to put the two together and make a fantastic end table. And for those of you who remember my "haul" post back in November, this is the piece I used to make the instant outdoor table...

Glue Caddy to Go!

I have a couple different work stations in my Lab, and find myself forever wondering where I put my glue(s) down. Here’s a quick little something I put together to both house & carry my supplies.

"Give" for Kelsey

This piece was commissioned by a gal to give to her daughter Kelsey. She saw my original "give" piece and was so taken by it that she asked me to create another one especially for her.

To err is human - to forgive, canine.

To err is human - to forgive, canine. Such a true statement!

"Grow"

A subtle reminder that Spring always arrives...

"If I try to be like her, who will be like me?"

One of my favorite charities is Girls Inc. and I created this piece with their motto in mind: Inspiring All Girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold.

Wisdom Gal For A Special Friend

My closest friend recently lost her mother and I needed to find a way to deal with my own sadness. I put this Wisdom Gal together as a gift to her.

"Every Wall Is A Door"

I've been looking for just the right found object pieces to assemble together and give one of my favorite Ralph Waldo Emerson quotes justice...

Assemblage Fun With Georgia Moon & JennyK

Geo and I try to get together every couple weeks for some silly fun assemblage time and tonight was no exception! Please meet Baby Boy & King of Hearts!

Viking Cowboy and Sailor Joe Lock People

OK, now for some silliness! I found these amazing old brass lock bodies at my favorite salvage yard and immediately thought they would make fabulous little people bodies. So, I put the quotes and metaphors away for a little while (grin) and came up with these two fun little guys. I’m feeling more of these coming on so stay tuned…

Wisdom Gal

Please meet the first in my series of Wisdom Gal Assemblages...

GOOD EATS Clock Using Vintage Wood Type

As many of you already know, I have a thing for (and quite a collection of) old wood type and use it in my projects wherever I can. A local restaurant asked me to assemblage them a wall clock and after much puttering around in my lab with nothing striking me, I decided to pull out the type and see what sort of design I might come up with.

A New Year's Resolution

I decided my first assemblage for 2009 needed to set the tone for me for the rest of the year...

Fun Little Organization Project

Here's a cute way to create some instant wall storage... Santa brought lots of fabric and notions this year and we wanted to come up with a “work in progress” wall where things were put away but still readily available. We were pretty set on using baskets but wanted a unique way to hang them...

Create a Special Advent Calendar for Next Christmas

Here’s a wonderful heirloom project you can start creating and collecting for next year. This advent calendar has been in the family for over 30 years and we’re as excited to open and hang little trinkets and treasures now as we were when we were young! Mom and Aunt Elsa fabricated it out of burlap, felt and ribbon/tassel and we all collected the treasures over the years to include a special rock found during a favorite summer vacation, an old silver dime from Grandpa, a swimming medal, etc., etc.

Vintage Surveyor's Ruler Art Piece

Remember the post I made using the pencils all stacked together? This piece is similar in the way I put them together - take a look: I found this surveyor’s ruler at the swap meet and paid $5 for it. I cut it so the red numbers would have a nice cadence when stacked next to each other. I then found a great “measure” quote and framed in a stopwatch, then placed it into calipers and attached it to the front with an old piece of hardware. I like the results a lot.

Holiday Junk Angels by Georgia Moon & JennyK

We did it! Georgia and I had our first arting day in my garage (AKA lab) today. Georgia picked the theme: Angels and brought along two boxes of amazing bits and pieces which we combined with my stuff and HAD A BALL! In addition to making the angels, Sophie kept us entertained by trying to hunt down the mouse that jumped out of one of the file drawers as I was pulling it open. I about jumped in Georgia’s lap, scaring her silly and haven’t laughed that hard in way too long… Hey, also a shout -out to junkermidge's post about hardware angels. That gal taught us the way to use the hinges as wings. Take a look at her post: http://www.junkmarketstyle.com/item/3667/hardware-angel-ornaments

A Little Christopher Robin Advice We Should All Make a Promise To Keep...

This is one of my favorite A.A. Milne quotes and I wanted the girl in the sculpture to embody it by holding the key to the promise to herself.

Inspired By Gretchen - Old Garage Door Headboard

Thank you for the headboard inspiration Gretchen. LOVE IT!

Table Top Made With Old Printing Press Type

I have a thing for old type: wood, metal – whatever. If it’s a letter, I fall all over it and find a way to incorporate it into my designs.

cherish the journey

Here's a precious little art piece I created with important words to live by...

Galvanized Bins Wall Unit

Remember the old galvanized bins I found at the junkyard a couple weeks back? I decided to make a wall unit out of them to display some of our treasures…

Have You Got The Time?

We made it the goal this year to create as many Christmas gifts as possible and who doesn’t need a new clock? Plus the mechanisms are really affordable and you can create one from darn near everything. So, I got busy this weekend and started checking folks off the list. Take a look:

Vintage School Map Graphic

OK, time for an inside project. No sandals allowed in the photos - I promise! I took a vintage school map I found at the swap meet for next to nothing and framed it up in a very old sliding glass door off of a store display cabinet. The imperfections in the old glass paired up with the well loved map makes for an interesting wall hanging. I have six more of these doors and am considering framing those amazing bus scrolls as a series...

Instant outdoor (or indoor) table

This is one of those "right place at the right time projects". I've had the table base in the garage for years just waiting for the right use.

THANK YOU & my latest salvage yard bonanza!

First of all, a BIG thank you to Sue & Team for asking me to become a contributor to the wonderful world of JMS. I am honored and excited to be a part of such a great group of friends and look...

My mom gave me these FAB wooden dominoes for Christmas and I thought they'd make a great piece of wall art. It’s hard to see in the photo but they are each about 8” long and the...

I've had a couple great hauls over the last few weeks and am proud to say all these treasures cost me a big $10! I especially love the bus scrolls and plan on framing them up as a series. Any ideas...

"8"

I found these WONDERFUL wood letterpress numbers used for billboard printing and took a view finder from and old Brownie camera and used it to frame up the quote. The letter measures at least 9"...

the camera

This is a neat one made of an old camera front, afixed to a brass screen of some kind, and attached to a cutting board I painted black. The old exam eye glasses were made so the lens could be changed...

"give"

Here's another piece that is going to a new home - it was made with an old Eastman-Kodak slide cutting board, some great brass hardware I unearthed at a junkyard, an vintage "hand" ashtray made of...

industrial lamp turned display

I was reading Debbiejean's "HELP" post from Oct 12 and the snap of the industrial lamps in photo #4 caught my eye... Here's a quick design treatment I've done with some lamps of my own.

Just "be"

For "be" I used an old (and heavy!) cake decorating stand as my base, then added an old wood and metal discus (used in track and field events), topped that with a flower frog, placed the "be"...

"Inspire" for Jen

Here's a little assemblage I put together for my writer pal, Jen. She was experiencing writer's block so I thought a little inspiration would help. Please note the metal typewriter arms(?) chair...

Bird In A Cage

Another one I made out of a burner pad, light cover, harmonica, beautiful old green wingnut and other bits and pieces....

Fun little project out of some old gears....

I found these gool rusty gears at an old place in Centralia, WA, added the little guy and and topped it all off with a cloche.

Jim, Jim, JIM!
Wow. You've done the "Sex Bomb" proud. I especially love the way you tied in the Studio 54 look with the holes in the shade. So classy. This lamp will truly go down in JunkArchitect history.

The only thing you could have done to top it off was adding some chest hair. Maybe next time.

Bravo Jim.

Re: Meet Reece, my first Assemblage Art apprentice!

Thank you so much for your comments! I appreciate it very much and I know Reece does too. He and his family were SO excited - they called every relative and told them to go to JMS site and take a look!

Monakent, you asked about glue... he didn't use any for these creations but when he does, he works with his mom and uses Gorilla Glue. I would imagine some forms of paste would be ok - especially when the items aren't overly heavy.

I like the art teacher for a day idea. I also thought working with the Boys & Girls clubs or Girls Inc. Lots of potential here!

Thanks again for letting us share :-)

You are one talented & special gal.

Junkinhart - you asked what comes first - the quote or the items and it is actually a little bit of both. The found objects need to "speak" to me to be in one of my pieces. Often times I start with a theme or a metaphor and go from there...

All the best,

Re: Just What the Doctor Ordered

Ingenious.

Re: How to Make A Paris Lamp

Geo,
This is THE BEST project to come out of your brilliant mind yet! It is so nicely done! And JMS'ers - it's even nicer in person. We stopped by for a hug on Saturday and saw in live and in person. 10 stars sister!

:-) JennyK

Re: A Precious Gift

Geo! I am so happy and pleased she struck such a cord with you! It was hard keeping her a secret but I'm so glad you were totally surprised. I so appreciate your wonderful words and feel the same about you. You're a keeper! :-)

Ladies, thanks so much for the kind words about her. She was a fun gal to make and those green drawer handles were so special - I had to put them to the right use. They worked perfectly with this gal. Her hat is a clock gear (ideas, always thinking creatively...) as well as a part off an old typewriter and a wonderful brass knob. Her message is housed in an old projector lens and framed with a cool old bearing.

Big Hugs,

JennyK

Re: HodgePodge Display

Neat stuff! Thanks for the peek!

Re: Holiday Junk Angels by Georgia Moon & JennyK

You gals are so wonderful! Thanks for letting us share our fun day with you. We had such a good time and Geo is SO easy and fun to play with. We're doing it again next Tuesday, so stand by for postings from that day. The theme is still TBD... Any ideas??

PS - We went to Home Depot and spent some quality time in the catch-the-mouse department... traps are now set and hopefully functional. I don't think Geo can take another Jenny-in-her-lap -leap next week ;-)

JennyK

Re: plaster dog

ooohhh! Kathy has me thinking now... :-)
Cool plaster St. Bernard! You should dress him up in Holiday finery and use him as the greeter at the door! Have fun and thanks for sharing.

Re: Table Top Made With Old Printing Press Type

and Janet...
Thanks for the comment on Melissa's quilt :-)

Re: Table Top Made With Old Printing Press Type

Janet,
Welcome to the wonderful world of JMS and thanks for taking the time to comment on the table! I used J B Weld (Quick) to adhere them to the new wood backing. I really like that glue and find that it doesn't "expand" like the Gorilla glue. Yes, the sky is the limit on this one and it is a ball fitting the type together in a neat design.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks again,

JennyK

Re: Putting a little "Mush" into Christmas!

Midge,
That is just great and I think you can take "the lack thereof" off your display skills because they obviously worked! :-) Keep up the good work! I look forward to your posts and can't wait to see what's next in the land of Midge!

XO, JennyK

:-) JennyK

Re: A little Elbow Grease

NICE WORK GEO! The results are fantastic. Doesn't it feel good unearthing a treasure like this?? And a great tip about checking the garage first for stuff like this... I've never thought to do that...

LOVE the arsenal shot. I gotta get you some Briwax too. I checked all over AG and it looks like it's an on-line thing now (if comes from the UK). I'm ordering some and will get you a can too.

Show us the whisk next!

XO, JennyK

Midge, check out photo #2; I spelled out what she's made out of.

Honey! You done that wonderful rusty pulley PROUD! I love it! Great idea sister!

XO, JennyK

Re: Jar Collage

I LOVE THIS! Nice use of repetition and I love the idea of changing out the flowers for the season. You could also put something inside the bottles (like 12 different versions of small red things or small purple things or beads or, or, or...).

Thanks so much for sharing!

JennyK

JennyK

Re: Bathroom medicine cabinet to beautiful feminine cabinet

Hi GroovyGreenDesigns!
This is really cool! So did you end up giving it to the little girl for her treasure storage?

JennyK

Re: Inspired By Gretchen - Old Garage Door Headboard

One other thought Kathy...
You could use place the ceiling tiles like you would in a quilt and have something interesting in between them as well as framing them...

Can't want to see what you come up with!

:-) JennyK

Re: Not Your Ordinary Christmas Tags

Beautiful.

JennyK

Re: Oh Christmas Tree! Oh Christmas Tree!

Kathy,
These are just beautiful - and I love how with the white trees you can really see all the wonderful ornaments. WELL DONE!!

Re: Inspired By Gretchen - Old Garage Door Headboard

Thanks for all the kudos gals but Gretchen gave me the nerve to try it so a shout out to her :-). And as Kimberly said, that's one of the best parts of being part of JMS. I just love the sharing!

Kathy, maybe your ceiling tiles are enough - just some fabulous trim around the edges..?

And yes, the battleship gray was quite gray - I added some more shots so you could see...

Re: What to Bring the Hostess

Sue,
This is one of your best projects yet. Just beautiful. I remember when we lived in northern WA, forcing bulbs was a way we brought spring into the house when it was cold outside.

And I love your use of the star washers. They are one of my fav hardware items.

Excellent.

JennyK

Re: Table Top Made With Old Printing Press Type

Hi Ladies!
Thanks so much for the wonderful feedback! It feels great to hear.

Cynthia, I would recommend doing a square surface rather than a circle as most (if not all) type comes in squares and you'll need to trim corners, etc. if you try it on a round. And yes, most type is about the same height.

Can you imagine an entire wall in type? Or a back splash in a kitchen? :-)

Thanks again Ladies!

JennyK

Re: Joy To The World

Candy! I love it! BEAUTIFUL job!! I love the different sections in the window and how you broke up the map with the ornaments, etc. I agree with Lani - the last photo should be your first.

I am blushing & bursting! Thanks for the compliment.

XO, JennyK

JennyK

Re: A few more "borrowed" ideas

I love the vintage ornament photo idea. Super cool.

JennyK

Re: How to Wrap with Wallpaper

Sue,
These are just beautiful. So unique and special. Beautiful.

JennyK

Re: Have You Got The Time?

Hi all! Update...

Just wanted to let you know that the clock was a HUGE hit with Heather & Barry. It's going under the Christmas tree for their little boy Aticus. I'm also giving them some new Bill Dings so he can play with them too. :-)

Thanks again for all the great comments on this one! It was a ball.

JennyK

Re: Art with Heart Show concluded...Upcycling in Georgetown, Texas

These are super creative! Thanks so much for sharing them!

JennyK

Re: Put a Little Spring in Your Christmas . . .

OK, this is cool. I've seen it done before but love how you've changed it up for the holidays. And the B & W photos are wonderful. Nice job gal!

JennyK

Re: Button, button, who's got the button???

oh honey. these are wonderful!!!

JennyK

Re: Have You Got The Time?

Hi there!
They started making them in the '30's and recently started to again. I've purchased quite a few on eBay but have also found them at the flea market, etc... Just Google Bill Ding Blocks and you'll come up with lots of stuff.

JennyK

Re: A junky little bit of Christmas cheer - part 1

JennyK

Re: Our Day-after-Thanksgiving show!

FABULOUS! I especially love the pink skates. Wonderful job! :-)

JennyK

Re: A trike tire is in the cards

I LOVE this! It reminds me of being a kid and putting cards on the wheels of my Sting Ray bike so it would sound like a motorcycle coming down the street. FUN!!

JennyK

Re: cherish the journey

{blush} Thank you Gretchen.

Re: Have You Got The Time?

Go! Make clocks! Post them! I want to see them!

XO, JennyK

Wind Chime City! Love it!

JennyK

Re: THANK YOU & my latest salvage yard bonanza!

And have a fabulous holiday filled with lots of thanks!

JennyK

Re: Hand Embroidered Towels

oh honey - these are BEYOND precious - especially the head of lettuce and the cup & saucers. If you can bear to cut them, I'm thinking a little pillow series would be a cute way to be able to look at them all the time...

JennyK

Re: Vintage School Map Graphic

Thanks for the comments gals. I love the map look but could easily see anything else graphically interesting in the old doors. I think doors and windows should always be considered in lieu of a frame - so much more personality!

Geo - I am going to save the east coast side as well as the map details on the top and bottom for another project...

:-) JennyK

Re: urban stool

Nice work Missy - this is really cool. Show us more!!

JennyK

Re: Chocolate tin

Awesome! Hey - a quick idea... make it a wall clock and put the movement and the hands in the lower right area so you don't bother the graphics. And no numbers are needed if you use black hands. This could be a cool way to be able to look at it every day...

Have fun!

JennyK

Re: Memory garden

Carolyn,
This is just beautiful and so meaningful. I feel there is no better way to remember someone than to plant something in their honor and watch it grow. Thank you so much for sharing this.

JennyK

Re: Home Tour Preview

JennyK

Re: Instant outdoor (or indoor) table

Sorry about the toes girls! I wasn't trying to push the California thing at all - really!! :-)

Re: Card File Ottoman

This is fantastic. I love it and love Candy's note about holding the remotes, etc. Very nicely done. And welcome to the site!

JennyK

Re: Got a pencil??

thanks so much for the comments! this design could work with anything... imagine old nails or screws, rolling pins, fishing rods trimmed up, even little rulers themselves... have some fun with it!

JennyK

so simple and so fun!

JennyK

Re: Tractor seat: Best seat

Cool idea!

JennyK

Re: Christmas Bling & More Great Ideas

WOW! That chandelier is just AMAZING. What a statement - and there are so many ways to vary it. Thanks so much for sharing this Gretchen.

:-) JennyK

Re: Trinkets for Trimming!

This is so fun Sue! I (of course!) love the gears but the glass baubles take the cake. Oh what fun! you had putting this together.

And Geo, your little song is classic!

JennyK

Re: well loved (and BIG) dominos wall art

Thanks gals! Yes, my mom is pretty wonderful - she gave me an over-the-top cool sprinkler for my birthday too.

Geo, your mom story just killed me! I laughed out loud! :-)

Jenny K

junk sophisticate - I LOVE that idea - especially with the swivel action. Thanks!! And yes, I about died when I saw those scrolls still installed in the bus...

Jenny

Re: DID SOMEONE SAY COLLECTIONS

I love it! The graphics on the old advertising tins are the best. What a collection you have! And I especially love that superintendent sign.

Re: Junking on a TUESDAY???

Oh honey! Look at what you found! Those bases are awesome but I am eying the hardware. Shall I come by after the junkyard tomorrow??

And thank you SO much for your wonderful words about my art. I was so touched you were there. I put up some photos and will list some more soon.

TTYS!

Re: "Inspire" for Jen

This is such a great place to share! Thanks for all the great comments on this piece! It was hard to give it up but I find they are more special to give that way :-)

Re: Fun little project out of some old gears....

Ultrajunk - yes, I would do small lots but since you have so many would probably pick a Buy It Now price you are comfortable with and list them that way. We sell on eBay and so many of our artist customers appreciate getting what they need quickly. Do a little past auction / past Buy It Now searching and see what the average price is. And roll shipping into the cost so it is Free for the buyer - big selling point! This time of year you'll do well. Let me know if I can help with anything else. :-) And let me know if you'll sell any of those huge gears you posted the other day. I about lost control when I saw those. :-) :-)

TTYS,

Jenny

Re: part of my mad scientist lab where it all comes together, talk about junk!

Hi there! I love your land of creative fun!!

Re: big ol box of brass watch gears..i guess gears like me.

You would make a MINT with those on eBay... IF you decide to sell some of them, be sure to put the keyword STEAMPUNK in the item title and you'll have lots of interest. Good luck!!

Re: It's a Spinner

OK, this is awesome. I fall all over myself around gears and this takes the cake. I love it!!

Re: Advice needed for project

Georgia, I have some great snips that would work perfectly. Would you like to bring it with you to my show on Sunday and we'll make it then? :-)

Re: wonderfull good find this week.

Mercy! What an AMAZING find! I go ga-ga over foundry molds - especially round ones. You lucky girl!!

Re: Rusty Bird Bath

That little bird is just precious! I want to learn to weld next and you've inspired me to do it!

Re: Ultimate Junk Shed

AH! MUCH better - nice job! I am drooling over that amazing that AMAZING galvanized metal...

Re: industrial lamp turned display

Thanks gals! My workshop (new name: Laboratory - thanks Geo!) has been described as organized chaos ;-) I will post some more snaps soon. Yes, working on stuff for my show today - I've never done this before and am looking forward to it! Georgia, did you find my secret note in your mailbox??

Re: Alameda Point Antiques and Collectors Faire
