Re: Simple Monday Evening

RustyDiva- restaurant ware is "diner" china. It's the sturdy stuff made to take the wear & tear of many uses-- and a must for those of us still doing dishes in a porcelain sink! It's usually white or white with a simple pattern. Most common manufacturers (stamped on bottom)are Buffalo, Ultima, Syracuse, Homer Laughlin (yes, of feistaware). It's really great because the plates are 50's sized rather than today's super portions sized. Tons of different pieces-- I especially like the small shallow bowls that veggies would be served in at a cafeteria. The oval entree platters are cool too. And I like the small pie plates for spoon rests, bowl lids, etc. Be forewarned...once you start buying, you can't stop!
