unfinished back on secretary desk

This antique secretary desk was given to me by my mother, the unfinished insides had always bothered me as they were very dark and ugly. I had been tossing around ideas of what to do to brighten up the inside. This cabinet sits in my dinette area and holds tea items, so I decided to line the inside walls and backk with pages cut from a damaged antique cookbook, glueing them on with watered down elmers glue. I have hung some antique crocheted potholders and hotpads on the walls and put my tea items back inside. It is a little crowded (guess I need to have a tea party).

LloydsLandingofSears writes: Love the tea items, especially the Mary Englebreit papers... I have a huge collection of ME tea items and no place (yet) to display them. I'm hoping to put a project together soon, and with your idea of the background, I'll be a "breit" and cheerful one when it's finished! I love your idea! ~Mary~ Posted: 11:25 am on June 2nd

I have a stackable bookcase from 1900 that was my grandparents and it is in the living room with milk glass in it. the white looks great in the dark wood but I have had it in the dining room too with dishes in it too.
