Thinking Outside the Box

These started life as a very ugly dark brown, rather greasy breadbox and a plain oak-colored file box.  I spied them in a thrift store and rescued them from a certain life of continued mediocrity.  I had a collection of embellishments at home to choose from since I am always seeing things and thinking of how I can use them for something other than their intended purpose.  So, some paint, pretty paper, one color copy of a vintage postcard, and some found objects later, I have two not-so-plain-anymore useful boxes.

Junquerette writes: I love what you did! I have an ugly file box so this inspires me to pretty it up. Just because I keep it behind closed doors in a closet doesn't mean it has to stay ugly. Posted: 10:38 pm on March 12th
