Yehaw!  Sue's Comin' to Georgetown and surrounds!

Went to my ALL TIME favourite Antique store in Georgetown, Texas today...Gatherings...where I confirmed with Cathy that Sue will be there on March 27th to sign her new book!  Then, the next day, I've invited Sue to shop and play with me at the "Citywide Garage Sale" where The Caring Place (Fabulous Finds is really the name of the thrift store that the Caring Place uses to sell wonderful donated goods to benefit the people of Williamson County) will have several booths and I will be showcasing some JunkMarket style projects ... and Sue will be doing a book-signing that will benefit the CP.  How cool is that?

Sunny and 81 today...had to get some of the gorgeous, white cotton/muslin slipcovers for my dining chairs.  While my table is spare, I hope it does justice to a few things found in nature -- a heart rock, an oval, white rock egg, a bird's nest.  I've also placed a metal rose that was crafted by my sister-in-law who is taking metalsmithing (this, after taking a welding class last semester...and she's in her 50s)!

The gals at Gatherings (Cathy & Stephanie) do lots of fun things...I mean, really, who would've thought to display such pretties in an old aquarium?  Kind of like your pretty frier, Candy, a mundane object turned into stunning showcase.

I've been on the lookout for one with silver edges for the last couple months...ever since seeing Lani's ice skate display and some others I've seen online. You don't see those kind of cool displays too much here in Ohio.

I LOVE your table display with your muslin slipcovers! And very impressed with your SIL!

Thanks for sharing. It sounds like you will be having loads of fun the weekend of Sue's arrival!

Take care,

Really fun too but high scale high priced very old antiques. Fun to drive up and down the roads there and stop where areas are full of dealers. People open their homes up too - so fun. I found a lady there a couple of Octobers ago selling vintage table cloths for 2.00 each. I think I bought at least 35. Unreal. Some of the higher priced barns and tent area cost to go in which I dont like. Sounds like you all had a great time there too. Posted: 7:44 am on February 19th
