Collage using a pine board as base. A piece of scrap book paper was affixed to board with decoupage. I used a design that would give the look of aged wallpaper. The paper edges were sanded and distressed by wiping with wood stain.
Copies of photographs were decoupaged on and then another coat applied over the entire piece. A bullseye trim piece was screwed to the board from the back side. Keys and trinkets were nailed on with brass upholstery tacks.
The names Frank and Nettie were written on the back of the original photo. I didn't want them to completely lose their identity so I added it to the front.
The children in this photo are cute and are smiling so sweetly. I just love 'em!
*I added a saw-tooth picture hanger to the back for hanging.

A friend recently introduced me to the art of collage. I think it's a great way to finally utilize some of the little rusty trinkets and vintage photos I've collected over the years. I have quite a few "orphaned photos"... ones where I have no idea who the people in the pictures are. I decided to put these photos together to create a family and give them a place to call home.
