This photo shows a button style bracelet that was created with a vintage abalone button for the clasp and vintage beads reused to make a 2 strand bracelet. I made this bracelet about 12 years ago when I first started making and selling jewelry.
A close up which shows how the clasp is made and the details of the button used.
This again was made 12 years ago and was one of the first items I ever made. I actually bought it back from a friend that had bought it, as it has vintage beads that were from my Grandmother and I regretted selling it.
The gorgeous vintage etched Czech bead was one of the beads from the attic and Grandma's stash. I love it!
This photo shows the lovely glass green vintage button that I used for the closure as well as another vintage green button that was incorporated into the bracelet strand.
This tassle style necklace is updated with the use of a vintage earring turned into a focal and an extra strand of vintage pearls attached to the original clasp. I wore this for a wedding with a cream top.
Details of the vintage earring turned into a pendant and the vintage strand of pearls.
This shows both the button focal as well as the tassle. I'm not sold on the tassle and tha may come off in the future, but I wore it with the earrings posted below.
These earrings were redesigned with old gold filigree pieces I took apart from a vintage necklace, I added old/new mother of pearl centers and attached these to 14 kt gold filled earring findings. These were worn with the above necklace to the wedding.

There are four seperate pieces of jewelry that are show cased in this post to show what can be done when you think outside of the box with vintage jewelry redesign.
I have been a jewelry designer for 12 years now, and have just recently gotten back into the reuse of vintage and found elements in my designs. I'm loving being back doing this creative outlet. If you want to see more visit my blog at: mimitoriasdesigns.blogspot.com

Could you please describ how you made the button clasp? This is the first time I have seen one where the string is visible through the holes in the button! I love that!
It is the perfect combination of dressy and casual!!!!
