Fun photo/card display
January 21st, 2009 in member junkWe saw these at a friend's shop, and have started making our own versions. Here's one I did for the upcoming show. I repainted a small metal lamp base and wired it up (no electrical outlet necessary!) to hold pictures, cards, etc. The wire is re-bar wire - that you can get at any hardware store - it bends pretty easily and is sturdy. I dry-brushed the wire with white paint to kind of seal it. Added some crystals and it's ready to go!

I will have to make something similar for 'Gramma's' room.
She sends us beautiful thank you cards whenever she comes to stay. Now I know where I can dislay them.

Janis - I have always loved vintage "stuff" (even when I was a teen..so that goes back a little way...) - and can't seem to part with "stuff" (need to join "hoarders anonymous"...or not!) Glad to share bits and pieces with you!
junkforfun - the base is hollow (used to be wired but I pulled it out), so I wrapped the wires all together and put them through the top, and stuffed the extra up inside the bottom - then "globbed" hot glue into the bottom of it so nothing would move - I usually tend to overdo...so that step might not be necessary. (ha ha) Good luck and hope to see your project when you're done!

janwinn - you could add as many wire "branches" as you need to, and we also work in some beads, etc... for a little extra bling!
