I have a fetish for making coasters.  I especially love to make faux tin tile coasters as seen here.
Made with black and white floral wrapping paper from a school fundraiser.
This set was made with scrapbook paper.  I did an antique glaze over it to give it a vintage look.
Another version of the faux tin tile.

I was given a whole box of ceramic tiles and decided to make a variety of colorful and creative coasters.  You know the saying..."It's 5 o'clock somewhere".  So, I feel that every drink needs a decorative coaster!

Happy Crafting,

DownHomeDIY writes: A non-junking resource for tiles is of course at home improvement store. Yes, I just mentioned a retail store so in order to appease the junk gods, please use recylced paper, magazines, or remnants if you go that route. Posted: 10:40 pm on January 20th

Yes, these were made with paintable, textured wallpaper. But, I have painted over all wallpapers, even tbose with color.
