Grate-ful Junk Decor

Amazing what an old grate cover and some tea lights can do to warm up a room!
The grate didnt look like anything special when it was found, but it screamed potential!
Prop it up and add a row of three tea lights. Voila! This simple idea adds a golden glow and ambience when placed on a side table in the living room. Wouldnt it be charming in a guest room as well?
In the mood for a little Valentine romance? Put the lights down low and put on some background music. Perfect for whispering sweet nothings in your favorite junk lovers ear!

PuttyTat writes: Hi,

I recently purchased a grate just like this one (mine is green and brown) because I just loved the design. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. Thanks for the great idea!

This is a fun and easy project that most of us could copy. Thanks for sharing! Now if only I'd come across some great deals on some grates!

Junk_Sophisticate writes: Congrats Amy! Seems like a natural fit to me! Love your grate idea. I have a more ornate one that I've had a heckuva time removing or even bending the back metal piece to use in this way. Maybe I'll give it another try.

Can't wait to see more from you!
