Made this table last night out in the shop..it is made from 100% found objects..the base  is a stainless steel half sphere, ceramic insulator, aluminum propeller fan, and some gears and hardware all came from the scrap yard, found the glass top on the curb. just need to put some glass levelers on the ends of the blades

QueenofGreen writes: Damon, this is way cool. I love stainless, as well as everything else useful and purposeful. That chair is to die-for, too. Have you thought of themeing the room with either 40's or travel-stuff? Posted: 4:14 pm on January 27th

ultrajunk writes: Oh for sure can't wait to watch them.,,you would not believe the 16mm home movies i found this summer at the yard..9 reels in cans all from the same family and they were made in the early 30's....they are incredible to watch, I watched them all on a projector from the 30's that i found at the yard about a month before the films and it works perfect. I was already offered $1000 for the films, but i can't part with them yet...I am putting them on dvd soon.

ultrajunk writes: Hello Everyone..thanks for all the great comments and reaction about my table. It came out better than i thought...and i think it was one of the quickest builds i have done so far..about 4 hours build time.
Christy i am in OhiO...so i think it would be a tad to far for scrap shoppin. They just opened a brand new yard down from the my other ones and i went there last friday for the first time and they let me shop..i found 7 vintage 8mm home movies from the 60's that i will be watching this week....all for $1..so that was my first purchase..yahooo! That is such a bummer that they won't let you in yours anymore.

csudderth writes: I LOVE everything you do! Where do you live--I want to come go the salvage yard with you! I've been banned from ours (liability) and I've been in a deep depression ever since. You have such a great talent for putting it all together too! Keep posting--I always get excited when I see a post from you.

CottageElements writes: Very cool table, Damon! I think it's my favorite, too! Btw, someone called to my attention that I had a typo in a previous post. Sorry for calling you "Demon". I'm sure you're nothing like that. But it did give me a good laugh!

ultrajunk writes: Hello JunkArchitect,,,thanks for the great compliment about the table. Nope i just go to the scrap yard everyday, rain sleet or snow and it was 0 degrees today but i still found some great stuff. The 30's machine age compliment is the best one i could have, as i love that period of style, so i am really glad you said that..thanks!

JunkArchitect writes: OMG! What a great table.

ultra, do you work at the scrap yard because you’ve got way too many pieces of major junk.

The table looks like it’s from the 1930’s Machine Age.

(The lamp cord is silk…thanks)
