My daughter got married this summer so needed to come up with a new idea to display my special pictures.

My friend gave me these old moldings, I cleaned them with Murphy's wood soap, then used Old English scratch cover and finally applied a paste wax.

Most of the old moldings (also called crossheads in case you go junking) that I have found have been old painted white ones - I just knock off the really loose paint and hang them like that. I have also sanded and painted several of them and then stenciled a verse, name or saying on them. They have been very popular.
