No craft stores for 60 Days: New Year, New Challenge Project #2

Just go with the "faux"!  Here is my second project for my New Year, New Challenge: No Craft Stores for 60 days.  This was inspired by my 5 year old.  I told him it was cold enough to snow yesterday so he had to wear a hat and mittens.  He wanted to know why it never snowed like at Grammy and Peepaw's house.  So, as a special treat, there was a bucket of snowballs waiting for him when he got home from school.  This was made using stuff that I had on hand in honor of my challenge.  I used styrofoam balls, spray adhesive and some faux, glittery snow flakes to coat them.

p.s. I was putting this all together on my front steps when the Mail Man drove up.  He said, "Isn't taking all those decorations down the worst thing about the holidays?"  I told him I was "actually still decorating".  He looked at me like I was crazy and said "Oh, OK?!?!"!  Just another day in the life of a mad crafter!

georgiamoon writes: Hey, this isn't Christmas decorating...it's WINTER decorating, which I think can go on for a while. I have a confession...I took down my tree this morning...it was a little dry. Maybe if I did some Winter decorating I wouldn't have to leave the tree up soooo long. good idea, georgia Posted: 4:34 pm on January 11th
JudyJunkster writes: Hey, the lights really do work but they are tough to see if you use a styrofoam ball bigger than a tennis ball. I've even put them scattered on icicle lights. However, the South Dakota winds we get raise havoc with them. Posted: 12:11 pm on January 11th

plumberdaughter writes: I love it! Very cute and I like that kind of snow better then the snow we have here. Ha!
I usually have people looking at me like I'm nuts too! Usually at the hardware store or lumber yard when they ask me for help and I try to explain what I'm trying to do. I usually have to look around and try to figure it out myself. Posted: 8:15 pm on January 10th

JudyJunkster writes: Love this -- so festive yet says winter so simply. Hey, here's a hint -- it works and isn't dangerous. Did you know that if you push those little white Christmas lights into a styrofoam ball, the balls will glow??!! I did it this on my outdoor trees on my steps and my wreath. Really is a neat effect. LuAnn writes: Great job! Love the look. Here though we can use the real stuff--getting a storm so I'll have plenty. But I like your look better--not quite as cold and can be stored till next year. Congrats-50 days and counting.
