These pieces are so lovely that I wanted to share them with all of you. They are well designed, beautifully crafted, and simply stunning. I'll bet with a little encouragement she'll share more. Nice work Gretchen!

Beautiful!!! I too have been a designer/store owner now for longer than I can remember and I keep thinking....is it time to move on now? :) I still have 2 more years in my lease and starting to think "burn out"!

Keep up the beautiful work...xo...deb Posted: 10:40 pm on January 9th
MimiToria writes: Snow man hill - I was a designer for 10 years, and the last year was in 9 retail shops and ended up burnt out trying to keep up with demand when the creations were each one-of-a-kind. I took off 2 years, was reinspired this past Fall, and am just now starting to sell again in 2009. I'm not currently in any shops, but hope to be in the future. You can contact me at gretchen.schaumann@comcast.net for more information. Thanks, Gretchen Posted: 2:22 pm on January 7th

MimiToria writes: Candy - I was going with Lani to meet Sue about 30 miles away and needed an easy way to seperate and carry these pendants with me. My dear husband had just fixed me hash browns, eggs w/mushrooms/red peppers/sausage, and toast and had asked me if I wanted the egg carton. Hmmmm! I think he's catching on! I said no, but than grabbed it off the top of the garbage. Ha! Ha! It worked perfect for this and inside printed in red ink it says "Thank you for shopping at ___________________." Sue loved it and she and Lani came up with the idea that I should display the pendants in the egg cart and add "Mimitoria's" to the blank spot inside the cover. I could glue a button over the red Cub Foods logo that is off to the side of the blank area. Too funny!
I've been working on these since September, but it took 2009 to really get me going and able to finish them. They are layered and it takes a while to get the right elements combined. They definitely aren't thrown together, but well thought out and thus time consuming. Many of the buttons are vintage mother of pearl backgrounds which are hard for me to find and I really want to make them proud with what I end up permanently gluing to them.
Thanks ladies for your nice comments. They are one-of-a-kind pieces and are fun to wear. Posted: 9:11 am on January 6th
