Sewing Machine Drawer Charging Station
December 30th, 2008 in member junkFirst I painted and distressed an old sewing machine drawer I then drilled a hole in the back end and used velcro to hold down an electrical strip with several plugs (like a surge protector). I then made a piece out of wood for the top with small holes cut out along one edge. I covered it with imitaion leather and put 2 small pieces of wood on the inside to hold it from going down too far. It's just laying on top of these side pieces so can be easily removed to change or add another plug. You plug all your items such as cell phones, ipods, etc. into the strip and pull the one end out the hole on top. You then just connect your device and lay it on top to charge.

I have been looking for something cool to make a charging station for myself. My BIL made one out of an old suitcase which I had considered but that might be too big for my small condo.
