Create a Special Advent Calendar for Next Christmas

  This advent calendar has been in the family for over 30 years and we’re as excited to open and hang the little trinkets and treasures now as we were when we were young!
Mom and Aunt Elsa fabricated it out of burlap, felt and ribbon/tassel...
...and we all collected the treasures over the years to include a special rock found during a favorite summer vacation, an old silver dime from Grandpa, a swimming medal, old gold locket, etc., etc. 
    Each item is wrapped in tissue and stored in its little pouch then hung on the tree as the days count down to Christmas Day. Then, after Christmas, each item is re-wrapped and put away for next year.

Here’s a neat heirloom project you can start creating and collecting for next year.

I've neither done the advent calendar thing, but always meant to. I think I'll finally give it a try for my family for next year. I love that yours has little trinkets that represent family memories. Thanks for the inspiration.
