Cast Off Pedestals
December 22nd, 2008 in member junkThese pedestals are made from "extra" furniture parts. I often come across furniture that is too damaged to be restored, but I just can't pass up the great looking, architectural "limbs." For this project, I rounded up some of the table and chair legs and bases that I've been hoarding. I cut them to varied lengths with the saw, painted and distressed them a bit, and attached old ironstone saucers and plates to the top with epoxy. Here, I have them set up with a couple of candles and mismatched hurricane globes I collected along the way. But, their simple design makes them easy to adapt to a variety of uses.
