Wine, cheese, CDs...

This one's kind of a toughie-it took the combined wits of two fully grown junkers. Sometimes two heads are better than one.

Mrs. Kimberly Doubtfire Melamed loves to cook and entertain. Rumor has it she even stands in line to get up close and personal with the likes of Bobby Flay. Here's a pretty ditty we cooked up for dining al fresco.

Junk Market Style Difficulty Meter

Materials:
Vintage round wire strainer
Scratched DVD or CD
Vintage or new drawer pull with hardware
One 3/16 in. nut
Ten 1-1/4 in. washers
Digital image of choice
One Avery CD/CVD label for ink jet printers
Instant glue (we used Gorilla Super Glue)

Method:

Step 1: Choose image from computer.

Step 2: Print on to label (per software's instructions) and affix to CD/DVD.

Get creative with your printed design--perhaps something cheesy?

Step 3: Screw nut onto threaded hardware and add 3 washers.

Step 4: Put screw, nut, and washers through bottom of CD/DVD.

No worries about scratching this disc. For an added bonus, use a family member's Playstation game.

Step 5: Place seven (7) washers on screw and screw on the drawer pull.

Drawer pulls can be an easy and cheap flea market find.

Step 6: Flip strainer upside down and affix CD/DVD to bottom of strainer with instant glue.

Tip: Make sure the picture you choose works with the size and shape of the disc.

Did you make this?
