Valentine "Chandelier"

This perfectly rusty lamp shade frame has patiently waited for decades to begin its second life. By simply wrapping the stems of the heart leaves with bakers twine and knotting them to the shade frame a fun little Valentines decoration was born.
When I grabbed these leaves for 98 cents at the thrift store I thought Id make a wreath out of them. But then I turned one upside down and discovered its heart shape. Well, you cant ignore that during the week of Valentines Day!
It only took a few minutes and some acrylic craft paint to turn the leaves a cheery red. Well call that the freedom to craft how the junk leads you. ;-)
With this little chandelier tied to an existing flush-mounted light, our entry way now has a lot more heart...just in time for Valentines Day!
With a view of a junked-frame-turned-chalkboard that bears a Scripture message of love.
The toy cash register and chalkboard are perched atop my next project. This Hoosier has seen better days, but I think Ill revive it with a coat of vibrant green chalk paint. Who knows...maybe even some vintage wallpaper or fabric on the cabinet doors? We shall see...after Valentines Day!

Somebody's junk just became a "chandelier" for our foyer.  You can imitate the look with a round frame (such as an embroidery hoop), some ribbon/twine, and the hearts from a deck of cards, or even vintage Valentines.
