Picked up a pair of old skiis for 6 bucks at a church yard sale.
I put the kids to work. we removed the hardware and started sanding the gumminess off to prepare for a smooth finish to paint
painted a turquoise
took an onion bag to make a net which I then inserted seashells in.
painted Lifeguard on Duty, but you could put Pool this way or Beach starts here or any thing really. Ive got some more hooks to put on it and then it will go outside our pool wall for the kids to hang towels on.

I love refurbishing old things, especially of the nautical variety. These can be used for signs of all types. I've already got an order for more to go on my friends pool deck.
