What to do with a Mammoth bookcase!

I bid on this sight unseen on an online auction. When I picked it up I wanted to leave it. It was a Mammoth bookcase that was in bad shape. Well it was $4.00 and I love a challenge.
I decided to split the bookcase into 2 separate pieces. A bookcase for my Mom and shelving for my sewing supplies.  A little trim, crown molding and Oak helped to transform and strengthen the piece.
As you can tell my Mom filled the bookshelf.
The top half of the mammoth bookshelf became shelving to hold all my sewing supplies.
I quickly filled the shelves with sewing supplies and painted an old mirror to top off the shelves.

I love a challenge! 2 shelving units from one bookcase.
