A few "borrowed" ideas
December 5th, 2008 in member junkWhile it's fun to come up with original ideas, sometimes you see someone elses good stuff and just have to "borrow" it. The buckets suspended from a pulley with flowers was an idea I saw Robb Whittleff do years ago on Decorating Cents (its on HGTV'S site). It was as cute as could be and I always wanted to do one. This fall I did and it turned out pretty much exactly the same and just as cute! I think the buckets could be filled with seasonal material all year long.
The Scrabble sign was done by Sue and a few others on this site. I used the idea to convey a seasonal message.

I found a rusty pulley I'll be posting about sometime soon. It doesn't have the addition of rope like yours though but it's a pulley! Yours is great!
Love the Scrabble board idea as well.

I first saw the pulley and pails in Country Living magazine about 20 years ago, but it was more country styling(galvanized pails w/plants planted)there, whereas yours with the white washed white pails is more updated and cool. I like the pulley you have too. I have 2 pulleys I've bought over the years to do this project, but have never gotten around to it. LOL
I hadn't seen the message with the scabble board before, so that was different to me. I sent 4 of them to Goodwill not to long ago, as I wanted just the letters and the stands they come with. After I gave them all away I've seen all kinds of fun projects one could do with the scrabble boards. That's the way it always goes.
