I wove a piece of ribbon (which I had to rummage around the house to find!) into the slits around the coaster rim. I "borrowed" a crystal from a candle holder I have and tada!...A gloriously simple ornament! Hung in the window, it catches the sunlight beautifully!
It all started with a tray and coaster set I picked up on my Junking Weekend, November 22-23? It's that silver set on the right with the star in middle of each of the four coasters and the tray.

Kimberly...You are very welcome! You know I love JUNKMARKET and I believe in it what it (and all its contributors) stand for!
Gretchen...No, they are not marked. And, yes, we will definitely have to get together some time! I'll hold you to that! :)

This is a great alternative use for the coasters. The sparkle with the glass, the star and the crystal addition just make it a perfect Holiday Season touch.
Have fun tomorrow with Lani. I wish I could join you, but my husband and I have plans to go the cabin for the day/night and than a family get together on Sunday. Maybe, I'll get to meet you one of these times yet, or Lani and I can make a trip up your way to visit.

Amy, these are simply stunning! Sometimes the simplest ideas are the most elegant and beautiful. Thanks for sharing them with us.
Also, I would like to thank you for mentioning Junkmarket Style and giving a definition of upcycling on your blog (which is wonderful by the way). It is such an important concept and message that we have always believed in. Kudos to you and all who also understand it's importance.
Take Care and Enjoy the season,
