Nice close up of the side of the shelf attached to the bottom of the old storm window
Extreme closeup of the rat signature! This flat was from my grandparents chicken coop attic. He climbed up and showed me a TON of these old things. My eyes went right to the half eaten ones! I said Ill take THAT ONE! He gav me the crazy eye and said -  What Do you Want That old Crap for??  I said Grampa ..... its beautiful!  Yes he thinks Im nuts too!
The old hardware used to close the window when it was drawn in, perfect for hanging my old necklaces!
Fitting that the rat crate came from a chicken coop - so i added chicken wire! And it is perfect to hang my earrings and hair clips from!
The piece in its full view. The window, the crate, teh chicken wire - a full on farm junkin delight! I did the colouring on it. It was white and chippy. White doesnt fit too well into my personal decor, so black it went! I think Black is the new white any way haha!

Old storm window, some chicken wire and a half rat chewed veggie flat all from the farm equals a permanent piece in my house! Just add some paint and clutter and its perfect for my guest room / dressing room / huge walk in closet / laundry sorting room LOL! Its the all purpose room! It can ideally be used anywhere for anything, front door, keys, purses wallets phone etc, or used as a plant holder, maybe a vine up the side and across the wire? In the kitchen ... dont we all want to make sure we look good while baking? Bathroom, makeup, toiletries etc ....

It has it's original dark oak finish from sometime in the 20's or 30's I would guess, and it had side shelves, along with a bottom shelf, so your mirror reminds me a lot of the one I have. I need to add some wood trim to the bottom to make it appear bulkier, as it looks a bit top heavy now with just the shelf at the bottom, so I may add storage in that space while I'm at it, as I'm planning to use it in my guest room as a mini-vanity in the room, not in the bathroom. I also adore the chicken wire in the top to add items of interest/seasonal items to the piece as time goes by. Great work! ~Mary~ Posted: 10:44 pm on December 22nd
