Screw on license plates - the more flimsy and rusted the better to form to the curved drawer front...

I cut one license plate and only needed to use two in total on the drawer front. I used screws to adhere them - not that I was worried they'd fall off, but because screws gave it an even more industrial look.

The key to the "cool" factor on the drawer was the handle. It had to be very industrial looking. No idea what the metal pieces came from (found them in my junk box), but the handle came off a dresser.

I decided the piece would look even better if the bottom had a row of license plates, so I randomly lined them up and screwed them to the bottom.

Spray poly (several coats) was used on the bottom plates and drawer, and I gave the body two coats of clear wax after it was painted and distressed a bit. (Dry between coats and polishing)

It was the first thing to sell in my booth at JunkFest on September 8th and I could have sold it 100 times! Glad everyone liked it as much as I did.
