For several months I'd been admiring the creations of various found-object robot makers I've seen on the web, such as these from: Amy Flynn's iFobotsGuy Robot - Scottoons - Andybots - Adoptabots - Mike Rivamonte - Nerdbots - Lipson Robotics

Finally, after acquiring some vintage objects from various thrift stores and yard sales, and soon to be meeting up with my girlfriend's family on vacation, including the two children of her brother Charles, I decided it was high time to turn my dreaming into reality and make my first two bots, for the children. These I have named SoccerBoyBot [who has aspirations on his brain of attending the World Cup!] and HulaGirlBot, a colorful and cheerful curlyhaired lovely. She even dances for a while when gently rocked, thanks to a slightly tilted center base! Items used were lamp parts, wooden findings, vintage drawer knobs, a tile and butter dish base, tongs, baby spoons, a vintage aluminum coffee filter, telephone wire, and of course, a vintage globe. I hope you enjoy them!
