There's a sawhorse on my mantel...

My fireplace is very overscale in size, so it tends to need large items to accomodate the visual weight. No complaint here! Its wild to put things up there that most fireplaces cant accomodate.
And one wild thing Ive tried lately is an upside down sawhorse. FUN!
A small collection of pretty junk offered up a unique display.
A little lace worked out to be a pretty nice juxtaposition against the rustic wood.
A couple twiggy wreaths took residence on one of the legs. Two is always better than one, right?
Aqua ball jars give the vignette a little sheen and pop of color to an otherwise neutral display.
A barn framed mirror married the sawhorse quite nicely. I like to use mirrors against a darker fireplace because they always seems to act like an additional window of sorts. The extra bounce of light helps to brighten things up.
Some added dried fall hydrangeas and a real birdhousegives you a pretty unique display I can nearly guarantee no one else has! Isnt it (brave) fun to create originals? :)

One of my favorite ways to change things out decor wise in my own home is to simply look at things I already have differently.

Such was the case with this latest adventure. An upside down sawhorse took residence on my fireplace mantel and it made me laugh!

You see, if I laugh, that's my gauge that I've outbraved myself. I tend to do that a lot, don't I? :)
