Primitive Bench

This is one of my very favorite projects I've done.  The bench is made from a $1 auction buy.  No one wanted it because it was very old and no one was sure what it was. But it was either a baby's crib or playpen.  The dimensions made no sense for any baby furniture today and there was no hardware at all, just peg construction.  The wood and construction were very solid.  I tried to honor the integrity of the piece as much as possible and used very little hardware and only cleaned the wood (the wood on the seat is new).  I included a picture from the back and also a closeup .
