This piece is so simple but always seems to get the biggest raves! It’s just so fun to look at hanging on a wall... I found a HUGE box of old pencils at an estate sale and just loved the different bits of advertising & markings. I gathered the ones I liked best and laid them out so their sayings were readable. I then attached them with glue to the back of an old (flat) ruler. I didn't even sharpen them as I wanted them to appear as found… Imagine using old rolling pins, paint brushes, keys – the list is endless!

TGTG writes: thanks so much for the comments! this design could work with anything... imagine old nails or screws, rolling pins, fishing rods trimmed up, even little rulers themselves... have some fun with it!
