Just some footstool fun

Just a fun little piece for the holidays, it could be a footstool or an extra seat for little holiday guests.  It's a red pop crate that I added stubby spindle feet.  Made a simple 2x 4 box with board on top, stapled fabric on 3 sides of box, stuffed, stapled 4th side, and then inserted into pop crate and screwed from underneathe to hold it.  Easy.                                                                                                                                           

     The fabric is the fun part.  Original I planned to use flannel but found my Christmas sweater that was no longer wearable.  The picture from the sweater shows the date "Dec. 26" and Santa's elves crashed out from the holidays.

Also a great use of needlepoint found at thrift stores...when I think about the care and time put into some of the pieces, I simply wince at the price. Picked one up today for $1.50 -- I'll repurpose it into a doorstop (a covered brick) -- idea found in a tres chic, Scully & Scully catalogue -- their version runs over $100.00!
