Grandma's chair

These chairs were a wedding present for my Grandparents back in the 1900's.  I have 2 of them and a rocker.  The seat originally was rope or twine.  I purchased leather belts at thrift stores and raided my own closet to come up with this eclectic mix.  They are just wrapped around, woven together and buckled on the bottom.  I've seen it done with silk ties as well.

Junkyard_Ballerina writes: WoW! Love this re-purpose idea! I find interesting belt leather irresistible, but never thought of using the old belts this way. My home is western, so my collection of forlorn tooled belts would be perfect for a chair like yours. Nice! Posted: 12:44 am on February 8th
