This look is candy to my eyes. I adore the hard lines of industrial combined with the softness of cottage style. Of course, the addition of flowers is always an added bonus.
The guesses for the origin of this box ran from a fishing contraption to a fryer from a restaurant. ????
It is top opening with a slide closure.
Three compartments on the inside.
I put some poly on it to keep the rust in place. Only junkers want to keep the rust just right!
I threw 3 candles on the inside and surrounded them with pebbles for a subtle embellishment.
Its Spring...it really is! Im not kidding! The sun is out and its more than 40 degrees. Flowers have a way of getting me excited. This is a Runonculus...one of my favorite flowers of all times. I picked the deep pink because I knew it would be the ideal contrast to the metal box.
I added this to a desk vignette in my daughters room.
Just another angle. You know how I am...it has to work from all sides.
One little light...
Three little lights.
The light comes nicely through the holes in the box. If you put dowels in each little compartment it would be a great ribbon organizer. Maybe Ill re-vamp it when the holidays roll around!

First of all it has my favorite industrial metal thing going on. Secondly, it has accumulated some rust...never a bad thing! And last but not least it has holes. That's a triple sucker punch for me! I have to say It's hard to tell how old this, where it came from, or what it was. Heck...maybe it was a candleholder to begin with. I don't know, but who cares. Junk is junk whether it's 10 minutes old or 100 years old. If you love it, pluck it from the pile and make it your own.

Did you make this?

MimiToria writes: Lovin' the mix of hard and soft lines with this post. Great eye once again and this little treasure looks to have many bright re purposes for it too. I agree with the comment about the runoculus being an awesome flower and this color of pink is sublime with the the steel grey you've paired it with. :)
