What's missing?.....The REST of the story

After the basic reconstruction, I primed, painted black, added the word REST, and antiqued it a bit.
Got a good deal on this -- just $5!  But....notice anything funny?  Theres no seat.
Decided the best remedy would be to start by cutting the bench in half.
With one of the halves, I separated the side and back pieces.
The half back piece now became the seat and I put the side in place to create the new mini pew.

I bought a church pew for $5.00. through our local online auction.  I really liked it!  No one else seemed interested, however, --I was the only bidder.  Maybe because if you notice, it did not have a seat.  But that didn't scare me.  No seat?....No problem.

I really had two choices:  construct a new seat piece from some lumber somehow, OR opt for a smaller version of the pew and use part of the existing back piece for the new seat piece.  The photo captions will tell you...the REST of the story.
