My first weekend of junking since I have become obsessed with old things.  I love my head/footboards that I found!  I am just torn between using them each seperatly for projects or using them as actual beds for my 2 daughters!

This is what I got my first weekend out....and I love everything!  The two sets of twin head/foot boards were $10.00 all together....my real find!  When I saw these I thought about the garden marker that was painted pink that was posted a few weeks ago.  The little table was a dollar...will be painted some deep rich color. The gold mirror was $2, it has some broken plaster...but I plan on painting it and giving it a patina, so I don't think it matters.  My candle holder was $4, and the barn wood frame $1. This will eventually have mosaic artwork in it.  My "splurge" was the wicker magazine holder for $10, but I bought it at an estate sale, and I have discovered that prices are higher there.  All in all, I think I did a good job and I love everything that I got!

justjunky writes: Thanks for all of your great thoughts! I am going to another estate sale this weekend after my sons football playoff game. I know the person who lived in the house....He was the local beer distributor, so I'm sure there will be lots of beer things! I am hoping some of his wife's things are still around...If I get hold of anything good I'll post photos. Posted: 10:08 am on November 13th

It doesn't take long. the reason that I painted the garden sign on that pink headboard is because I didn't have the footboard! Since you have both it would be a shame to break them up. I have a similar set in one of the bedrooms at my house (for my niece) and I left it natural. It is so cute with almost any kind of bedding. That's why i left it that way so I could change it up. White and girly are always nice when they are young but they grow up pretty fast, so it's a tough decision. I love all the other things you got too. Welcome and have fun! Once you start junking...it doesn't end...congratulations!! LOL

Welcome to the site - looking forward to your mosaic work and posts!!

Junk_Sophisticate writes: Wow! You got some really great steals! I love, love, love the head and footboards and suggest you use them for your girls. It's always hard to find matching beds like that at such an amazing price.

They do look just like the pink "Garden" headboard that Georgia made. I say paint them a pretty color of your choice unless they are too nice and should be refinished instead.

have been more at an estate sale here. But here you can place bids on things and if they don't sale the high bidder gets it. Risky but sometimes it pays off. I have a table almost exactly like the one you have. I painted it white with
pink accents. Can't wait to see what you do with yours. Posted: 11:56 pm on November 11th
