Bar Doors Revamp
January 21st, 2011 in member junkI bought these ugly (gross and grime covered) bar doors from the Habitat for Humanity Restore for $35. I normally don't spend that much on anything, but I had a vision for these! After I spent 2 days cleaning (they came out of a local restaurant or so I am told, they were so gross!) and sanding the slats down...I painted them a coat of cream (oops paint from Home Depot). I only painted one coat as I wanted the original wood to come through when I sanded them down a bit. After a light sanding I used mahogany wood stain and brushed it on, and quickly wiped it off. I think it gives them a Restoration Hardware look. I love them! My cousin loved them more; so much so, that she is going to buy them from me to use as actual doors in her home.
