Here's the little safe door (about 12" square) I pried off an OOOLD metal cabinet I pulled out of someone's trash. This was the least rusty part of the whole thing.
I stained the rust to look like burnt places. I printed this verse onto parchment and burnt that too, and decoupaged.
After drilling holes into the back, t's nice on the wall. Drilling into this industrial-gauge steel is not easy!
My favorite fence company lets me pick thru their old removed pieces from jobs. This piece was cut from a large section. A few deck screws holds it in place. Already aged, weathered, distressed! I love it!
Okay, several of you asked to see this sweet old thing planted up come spring, so here 'tis! A bright, cheery spot in my teeny tiny jungle. I love it.

This rusting old industrial steel cabinet in my neighbor's trash heap was irresistible! The drawers and main door were rusted through and fell apart, but I saved what I could. It's important to be "safe", no?
