Old Door Shelf

We took a very old door and built a shelf out of it.  It was very tricky working with the old wood, we had to cut the top part off because it had glass windows and then everything started to fall apart!  Good thing we had 4 hands to hold it together.  We've seen these before, we don't know who to give credit to, we  didn't use a plan, we just started cutting!

georgiamoon writes: Hi Snowman Hill...love the name. Sounds like Christmas all year long. Great little shelf and I went to your blog and saw the hanging sled. I am thinking of hanging a sled for Christmas. What did you use? I'm thinkin' chain, but I am always thinkin' chain... and I have old red chain. Hmmm the wheels are turning. Thanks for the inspiration. Hope to see more of your fabulous decorating in the near future, Georgia Posted: 1:30 pm on November 8th
LuAnn writes: Really love the shelf. Cool idea. I've checked out your blog and love the hanging sled. I've been wanting to do that in my kitchen but JH didn't think it could be done. So now I know it can. I'll show him the pics and hopefully soon I too will have a cool sled hanging from my ceiling to decorate for the holidays. Welcome to the site and thanks for all your creative ideas.

PS--as a kid we use to travel throught Duluth on our way to Lake Vermillion (my GP's resort). It seemed whenever we went through there it was always raining! Posted: 9:52 am on November 8th
